Main Responsibilities: 
Financial Reporting: 
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and company standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and dashboards, ensuring the integration of GTN considerations.
  • Collaborate with the HTU Finance team to develop and deliver comprehensive GAAP reports annually.
  • Partner with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance, with a focus on GTN aspects.
  • Develop and update accounting SOPs, particularly those impacting GTN reporting.
  • Implement and refine accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, emphasizing process and system improvements.
  • Build and manage cash flow forecasts, specifically for Commercial expenses and GTN-related activities.
Month-End Closing Process: 
  • Collaborate closely with the HTU Finance team to ensure GTN and Commercial expense-related month-end financial closing activities are conducted timely and accurately.
  • Support comprehensive monthly GTN analyses, working closely with Pricing, Contracting, and Strategy teams covering Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, and GPO Admin Fees & Rebates.
  • Prepare journal entries relating to GTN and Commercial activities.
  • Manage the month-end process to analyze actual sales and expenses versus budget/forecast, providing detailed variance explanations concerning GTN and Commercial metrics.
  • Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, ensuring accuracy in GTN reporting.
Data Retrieval and Analysis: 
  • Partner with the IT department to develop Tableau reports that enhance GTN reporting processes.
  • Conduct detailed analyses to provide financial insights, particularly regarding GTN and Commercial expense management, to business unit leaders.
Budgeting Process: 
  • Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring all GTN and Commercial expense components are accurately reflected and aligned with business plans.
  • Develop commercial function budgets.
  • Monitor budgets and variances, with special attention to GTN and Commercial expense-related discrepancies.
Relationships: 
  • Build strong business relationships within HTU and across the Helsinn Group, and liaise effectively with external auditors and business partners, emphasizing GTN matters.
Decision Power: 
  • Reports directly to the HTU Senior Director of Finance.
Work Experience and Personal Characteristics: 
Work Experience: 
  • Minimum 5-7 years in senior accounting and finance roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a strong emphasis on GTN processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial functions with a focus on GTN accounting and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and expertise in JD Edwards Enterprise One required.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations affecting GTN calculations and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to work in international and cross-functional environments.
  • Preferred experience with a Big Four accounting firm.
