main responsibilities |
- Own and manage the pricing and contracting policy.
- Oversee official price calculations and reporting as a subject-matter expert; forecast and communicate projected AMP, ASP, Best Price, CPI penalty, 340B pricing, Federal URA.
- Evaluate and implement price increases; assess impact on net cost recovery for buy and bill products.
- Evaluate proposed contract terms and offer alternatives based on analysis that maximizes product access and brand value; volume and net sales gained or lost; estimated participation by proposed members; impact on overall brand volume mix by type of account (in concert with Finance).
- Ensure contracts align with HTU’s brand and corporate strategy.
- Chair Pricing and Contracting Committee.
- Track and report impact of each ongoing contract and evaluate success/failure; WAC sales; discounted sales; participation rate; unit trends before and after inception.
- Serve as the interface between Market Access and Legal regarding contracts.
- Provide pricing and contract strategy input for product BD opportunities.
- Oversee and coordinate all discount and rebate programs.
- Oversee HTU’s Third Party Invoice Processor to ensure that payment for all contracted business is made per contractual terms.
- Ensure that HTU is compliant with all government pricing filed monthly, quarterly, and annually by managing the team that calculates and analyzes the data.
- Serve as the subject matter expert internally regarding contractual agreements with payers, distributors, and wholesalers and the implications that these agreements have on ASP and NSP.
- Assist the Market Access team with data and contribute to the development of contract strategies for current and future products.
- Draft and/or provide input into SOPs regarding government calculation, government contracts and commercial contracts, in coordination with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Market Access, and Third Party Partners.
- Provide training on Government Pricing, in collaboration with Compliance, for the Market Access team and others that impact government pricing.

work experience requirements |
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 15-20 years’ experience in three or more of the following areas: Finance, Accounting, or analytical role in related area; Experience in pharmaceutical Market Access; Contracting and pricing experience in pharmaceuticals or medical devices; Proven leadership experience with teams and processes.
- EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Microsoft Excel, analysis tools, query tools, IT support systems.
- Extensive financial skills including an in-depth understanding of financial statements, financial planning, and financial forecasting.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry, preferably payer or GPO contracting for a manufacturer, Health Plan, or Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) and exposure to Trade, Retail, Federal and Medicaid contracting.
- Experience in dealing with current Pharmaceutical and Healthcare issues, structure, rules and laws including a thorough understanding of the Pharmaceutical legislative environment as it relates to AMP, ASP, Best Price, URA calculations, 340B, HCR, Medicaid and Reimbursement.
