Locations in Western and Southeastern PA, Southern NJ, NY, and CT

Position Description

Our relief veterinarian partners provide veterinary services on an independent contractor basis and cover shifts for our veterinarian team members at one or more of Heart + Paw's locations.

Our ideal
relief veterinarian will be client centric, have a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond pet parents have with their pets, be passionate about embracing low stress handling philosophies and methodologies in patient care, and have at least 2 years of clinical experience in a companion animal practice.

 

Your Time at Heart + Paw

During your time with Heart + Paw, you are asked to:

  • Practice veterinary medicine in a way that is focused on a client/patient centered approach to veterinary care.
  • Work in alignment with the Partner Doctor and Heart + Paw to deliver our company vision.
  • Promote and practice top quality preventive care.
  • Serve as a role model and champion of the Heart + Paw brand.
  • Contribute to proper use and maintenance of all center equipment.
  • Work with the veterinary hospital team through your daily patient caseload and direct center employees in a positive and efficient manner.
  • Communicate with clients in a positive and efficient manner, utilizing Heart + Paw technologies available (mobile app, telemedicine, texting, emails, etc.).
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations and Heart + Paw quality standards.

 

What You Will Bring to Our Team

  • Professional licensure in good standing with the applicable state veterinary board

  • 1-2 years of clinical experience

    Once we receive your completed application, we will request the following:

    1) Your authorization to a background check. Heart + Paw conducts a background check on any individual performing work on our behalf, including independent contractors and other conditional workers. A successful background check is a condition of our relief veterinarian agreement.

    2) a current copy of veterinary medical liability insurance coverage (declarations page).

    3) a current copy of your veterinary license in any states you will be working.

    4) a current copy of your DEA license.

    5) review and completion of the Relief Veterinarian Agreement provided by Heart + Paw.
