Metadata Associate, Publishing Operations

SUMMARY:
Hachette Book Group’s Managing Editorial department is seeking a Metadata Associate to support Editorial divisions with title setup, data entry, and data maintenance in our title management system. The coordinator will be responsible for managing data for imprints in the Grand Central division and report to the Director of Publishing Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in close partnership with Grand Central editorial teams to set up acquisitions, products, and contracts in our title management system.
- Collaborate with editorial and managing editorial to ensure data is complete and accurate.
- Troubleshoot data issues as they arise.
- Test new title management features and help improve internal processes and workflows.
- Assist with metadata projects as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 years of experience working with data.
- Intermediate proficiency with Excel including vlookup and pivot tables.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks, and manage time effectively, while ensuring accuracy in all work.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with different departments and effectively within a team setting.
- Interest in publishing or prior trade publishing experience is a plus.

The compensation range for this position is $50,000-$60,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
