SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hachette Book Group to join the Client Sales team in an assistant role that will support the entire Client Sales team This person will be highly organized and will coordinate and prepare materials for the sales team; compile and analyze sales reports and assist in ensuring the completion of day-to-day operations. This is an exciting role that requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
 
This is a NYC based role. Please note our current hybrid model is two days per week in the office. Effective in January 2025, HBG’s hybrid model will be 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
  • Create and run weekly sales reports to share with clients and internal sales team. 
  • Create and run inventory reports to help with stock management. 
  • Collate and share sales feedback to sales clients.
  • Collate and manage weekly publicity updates for sales reps. 
  • Support the client team in preparing for sales conference. 
  • Assist with maintaining our Edelweiss catalogs and ensure they are up to date.  
  • Creates seasonal PowerPoint decks as needed. 
  • Facilitate efficient operations of the client department; liaise with in-house departments as necessary. 
  • Other support tasks as needed. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: 
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of MS Word, Microsoft Excel (V Look up), PowerPoint, Outlook, and databases.
  • Familiarity with Circana / Bookscan is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative and support colleagues in a busy environment with changing priorities.
  • Interest in sales and the publishing field.
  • Prior office-experience a plus.

The compensation for this position is $47,500. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
