Subsidiary Rights Analyst, Royalties

SUMMARY:
Hachette Book Group is seeking a subsidiary rights analyst who will be a key part of the team that handles income and questions related to the subsidiary rights accounts at HBG for both foreign and domestic licensees.
 
Please note: this role will be based in our New York Office in a hybrid model.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify and post subsidiary rights income
  • Research and correspond with outside partners regarding payments received
  • Support subrights accountant on monthly reconciliation of subsidiary rights accounts
  • Act as a point person for subright reviews for biannual payout review
  • Review contracts and royalty statements for one publishing imprint
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Able to grasp new systems and procedures quickly and accurately
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (macros, lookup functions, etc.) and familiarity with other MS Office programs
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience required
  • One year of relevant work experience, internship, or school related co-op experience, prior publishing experience a plus but not required
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
  • Must be results driven and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
  • Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through

The compensation for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
