What will you do as the System Administrator for Aculocity?

The System Administrator will be part of a team supporting over 400 users in technologically mixed, dynamic and demanding operating environment. System infrastructure is primarily utilizes Windows environment while Linux/UNIX hosts are present and being used extensively. Main computing hardware emphasis is made on Hewlett-Packard equipment while CISCO is a primary network hardware vendor.

Team member’s area of responsibility will include but not limited to day to day end user requests, system and network architecture and support tasks, new technologies research, working out and development of new projects research, and more. There may be 5% to 10% of travel.

The System Administrator will work within a team to direct, manage and operate the corporate technology infrastructure to ensure high levels of ability, performance, stability, security as well as the long term viability of the underlying technologies.  Lead and contribute to multiple infrastructure-related projects with a variety of complex activities include planning, designing, developing, installing, configuring, proactively maintaining, supporting, and optimizing IS systems.  This individual also drives and manages the planning and implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with Rotary International technology standards and goals.

What does it take to be a part of our team? Proficient system engineer for Microsoft servers and R&D with general understanding of all aspects of IS infrastructure and strength in one or more of the following areas: Degree and certifications helpful.



  •  Telephony and VOIP

          SAN and storage




          IIS, Load Balancing and web technologies.

          Software R&D support.

          Enterprise MDM (AirWatch)

          Mobile Telephony (Android, iOS, BlackBerry)

          Strong skills and experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure, server and application issues including root cause analysis, stabilization and remediation.

          Ability to communicate and work effectively with other IS teams as well as individuals and vendors in other countries.



Where will you work? The successful candidate will work out of GVW’s North American headquarters, located in Highland Park, Illinois, and have occasional responsibilities in Rolling Meadows, IL and will report to our Director of Global Infrastructure.
