Publishing & OOH Manager

Overview of job
We are looking for a Publishing (primary specialism) and OOH (secondary) Manager who has exceptional implementational planning ability, strong understanding of the role both Publishing and OOH play in a client’s overall marketing campaign and experience of leading and working within a team of multimedia specialists to deliver a connected response to brief.

The role will require you to be responsible for the Publishing and OOH planning output for some of MediaCom’s biggest clients from TUI to Groupe PSA and Cancer Research UK.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Publishing Associate Director in the team.

Measures of success –

In three months, you would have:

  • Built strong relationships internally with your multimedia implementational colleagues, Investment (Buying) counterparts and your Comms Planners on your roster of clients.
  • Planned connected Publishing and OOH plans (alongside other media) for your clients.
  • Started to build strong relationships with your clients and relevant Publishing and OOH media owners.

In six months, you would have:

  • Established a key role in developing connected, multimedia responses to briefs with an intrinsic understanding of how to collectively build a campaign system.
  • Presented your Publishing and OOH implementational strategy and plans to your clients as part of a connected multimedia response to their brief.
  • Developed a good working relationship with other internal specialist teams at MediaCom e.g. MBA (MediaCom’s content division), RWI (MediaCom’s research function), Business Science etc

In 12 months, you would have:

  • Delivered a content partnership for a client with a Publisher (cross platform) working closely with the Content Lead in your team, Investment and the MBA Project Management team.
  • Got involved with the implementational work required for a new business pitch
  • Entered your best-in-class work for an industry award(s)

Responsibilities of the role:


  • Be involved in the management, motivation and progression of more junior members of the Publishing and OOH teams.
  • Collaborate well with your digital, AV, Investment and Kinetic counterparts.
  • Take a leadership role in the delivery of connected multimedia responses to brief ensuring the wider team are working together effectively to produce the best work.
  • Maintain strong relationships with media owners.
  • Build trust with your day to day clients.


  • Ensure that you are delivering and sharing brilliant basics in Publishing and OOH implementational planning.
  • Have detailed knowledge of all relevant industry and GroupM proprietary tools.
  • Be highly competent in the construction and telling of compelling implementational stories (i.e. role for channel within the system, flighting, weighting, formats, connections to other media etc) and justification of your recommendations.
  • Ownership of the day to day Publishing and OOH output for your clients.
  • Understand how to conceive, evaluate and deliver content partnerships with publishers (cross-platform).


  • Work with and support the wider members of the account team (Comms planning and Connect) to establish great ways of working in response to briefs
  • Working closely with Investment to ensure campaign set up is in line with implementational response.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions.


  • Work closely with Investment to deliver your clients’ buying targets
  • Good understanding of your clients terms of business

  • The ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure
  • Knowledge of industry media planning tools (all media e.g. TGI, NRS, ComScore, xxxxxxx, BARB, RAJAR etc)
  • Genuine interest in industry research and new ways of working
  • Ability to extract and filter relevant insights from briefs and research to support your planning decisions
  • To be a great communicator
