We are looking for maternity cover of the leading Risk and Compliance role in EMEA based in London. The candidate will be managing existing Compliance team which consists of two SOX & Compliance Analysts based in London and eight market Compliance Leads based in the region.

This is a challenging role with multiple deliverables and priorities which requires fast learning capabilities. The role involves managing a wide range of stakeholders across the Group, delivery of annual Compliance Programme, overseeing annual SOX cycle in the region with approximately 50-60 audits; submitting quarterly executive reports and working with WPP Internal Audit as well as other internal and external audit teams.

Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment and work cross-functionally with multiple geographies, functions, and employees of diverse backgrounds. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a collaborative team-oriented problem solving approach are critical. The role provides access to multiple stakeholders within a wider WPP Group.


  • Lead the regional Risk and Compliance function and promote a high standard compliance culture across the region through training, support and advising on Compliance related topics such as anti-bribery and corruption, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) as well as internal policy requirements. Serve as a compliance subject matter expert within the business.
  • Implement and deliver annual EMEA compliance programme based on the risk assessment as agreed with key stakeholders.
  • Support the business ensuring continued adherence to global legal and regulatory requirements, internal policies and contractual obligations.
  • Partner with cross functional stakeholders across the WPP Group including business and functional leads, internal and external auditors.
  • Think strategically about our business, review operational processes and procedures and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure new acquisitions meet compliance standards within required deadlines.
  • Deliver annual improvement in SOX and compliance results across the key markets.
  • Recruit, train and develop regional compliance team.
  • Review and approve Gifts and hospitality requests for selected EMEA markets.



  • ACA/CA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 7+ years of post-qualification experience (industry or consulting experience in ethics and compliance, business process improvement, risk management, or internal audit) at a multinational company;
  • Experience in media and advertising with proven knowledge of core business processes is a plus;
  • Experience in managing teams;
  • Self-starter with a high degree of professional ethics;
  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Fluency in foreign languages relevant to EMEA region is a plus.
