We’re looking for a quick thinking and versatile Digital Manager to work on two of the most important and exciting parts of Sky’s business. The candidate should already have an excellent knowledge of the UK digital landscape and be well versed in planning / buying digital media across both DR and Brand.

The role will help them become a digital expert working across market leading campaigns, as well as become an excellent client service provider. 

The Team 

Sky is the largest advertising account in the UK and as such the biggest at MediaCom, with around 65+ people working on Sky full time.

To ensure we meet the needs of such a large client, the Digital Manager will sit with the rest of the digital team within the wider Sky Team, acting as a key pivot between other functions of the team and Sky clients.

This role reports directly to the Account Director and manages the output of the Planner / Buyer’s and Executive on the team.

The Opportunity 

Sky campaigns use market leading technology and partners to deliver the best results for Sky either in terms of sales, upgrades and / or brand metrics. We put digital at the heart of what we do to ensure all our media planning is targeting the most appropriate audiences to deliver the best possible results. Therefore we are looking for somebody with a strong digital background and a keen interest in this area to develop market leading campaigns and work with market leading suppliers and technology.

The Digital Manager position is a client facing role and will act as the central lead for the digital team, working with the Account Director on the upfront strategy alongside a supporting team of Planner Buyers and Execs to ensure that this is delivered within the detailed planning and implementation of campaigns.

They will also be expected to work closely with the planning team and other supporting departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the strategy and maximise the opportunities to provide an integrated solution.

This particular role will focus TV Products including Sky Q and Store which sit within the Sky portfolio. This would predominantly focus on brand planning but will also cover the Upgrades element of the account so the ideal candidate would require strong experience of DR strategy and planning as well.

The Digital Manager will also have access to work across our market leading digital projects with Sky’s DMP, dynamic creative solutions and programmatic buying unit.

They will have access to the best buyers and strategists within MediaCom and will be expected to channel their thinking into all aspects of TV Products and Store.

The fast pace of the Sky account makes it imperative for the Digital Manager to be a quick thinker, a fast doer and keep a keen eye on the detail to ensure standards are not compromised and we deliver quality work.

Skills, Behaviours and Experience Required 

The role requires a highly motivated, self-starting and self-critical individual to drive a best in class service and practice for Sky. It requires paramount leadership skills to effectively consult and support successful client engagements in a challenging landscape of multiple stakeholders. 

·         Experience working in a media agency, 4-5+ years required

·         Experience working on top tier brands and campaigns, 4-5+ years required

·         Proven ability in developing and executing multimillion pound campaigns across all digital channels

  • Advanced understanding of digital principles, partnerships, mobile, data and analytics for management

·         Knowledgeable and experienced in DR campaigns with understanding of buying strategies to drive optimal sales

·         Knowledgeable and experienced in SEO and PPC campaigns with ability to build Search strategies

  • Strong knowledge of the programmatic landscape as it relates to various channels including display and video
  • Strong knowledge of multiple technology platforms: DSPs, verification tools, viewability, analytics, attribution modelling and adserving

·         Experience working with DMP ad tech to drive audience segmentation and reporting. Complete understanding of the full CRM process and how 1st party data is collected and used to fuel campaigns

·         A strong understanding of how offline channels are planned and bought to ensure they can identify opportunities for integration with online planning.

·         Proven offline understanding, training, and ability to build cross channel strategies

  • A strong communicator with excellent written & verbal English language skills/grammar

·         Proven digital media specialist in exceeding client KPIs and producing ground breaking work

·         Experience of managing and mentoring more junior members of the team.

·         Have a positive and passionate approach that motivates the team around you

·         Independent worker who can own and manage relationships confidently

·         Ambitious and driven to execute new ideas and be at the forefront of new industry developments

·         Championing the success of your team both internally and externally

·         Be analytical and have excellent attention to detail
