The Role

Working as part of a team of eleven, you will support the GCFD (Global Client Finance Director) and Managing Partner for two of Mindshare Worldwide top global accounts.

Mindshare and the Global Commercial Teamwork with a large portfolio of global clients across the automotive, FMCG, luxury and financial sectors. You will therefore be an integral part of a dynamic worldwide team, gaining best in class experience and exposure to global media challenges across a wide range of clients at the forefront of creative, adaptive and innovative media solutions.

All our Global Clients are subject to audit by external audit firms responsible for providing our clients the assurance that we comply with our contractual obligations. We are proud of our strong record in this area. This record has been achieved by working closely with both our clients, our local agency finance teams and the external audit teams. This role will support the GCFD to maintain this standard on two of its key global accounts, with a strong ability to influence both external audit firms and drive the right attitude in our agency teams to continuously improve in this important area.

Responsibilities

  • Robust knowledge of key commercial contracts and relationships
  • Co management of agency client audit program with specific responsibility for a portfolio of key clients. To include:
    • Coordination of the markets/auditors
    • Negotiation of scopes of audit, NDAs and MRLs
    • Audit briefings
    • Maintenance of the annual agency client certification program
    • Negotiation of post audit settlement/makegoods
    • Implementation of post audit remedial plans
    • Tracking of results and correction of any noncompliance issues
  • Provision of “consultancy services”:
    • Ad hoc commercial contractual advice
    • Contractual know how for pitches
    • Market specific commercial know how
    • Financial/audit best practice
  • Working with the Commercial Team, responsible for onboarding new clients/contracts globally, communicating key commercial and operational terms, assessing commercial risk and implementing counter measures
  • Development of tailored compliance programs to meet changing market practices and specific client contractual requirements
  • Oversight of the media performance audits, working strictly within the agency best practice requirements, and control of any media process/digital audits
  • Development of training and best practice programs to include commercial contractual knowledge
  • Maintenance of up-to-date agency commercial guidance documentation and systems
  • Hands on engagement in any agency commercial/contractual projects 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified accountant/auditor or someone holding a legal qualification
  • Substantial experience and proven track record of industry commercial/financial experience
  • Robust experience of managing and negotiating contracts
  • Demonstrable multi market hands on experience
  • Knowledge of core agency concepts – agency benefits, disclosed buying models, undisclosed inventory, vendor contracts & remuneration models 
  • Capacity for multi-tasking and meeting multiple simultaneous deadlines across potentially different time zones
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well, build trust and engender strong relationships
  • Commercially astute:
    • Capable of unravelling commercial contracts and applying that knowledge “real time” to different markets and situations
    • An innate ability to navigate the grey and negotiate commercial situations/contracts to the benefit of the agency
    • Demonstrates good commercial logic and reasoning 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail:
    • Logical, concise and proficient at breaking down challenges into component parts and developing solutions based responses
    • Forward thinking and a detailed planner
    • A natural attention to detail and ability to digest information from a wide variety of sources
    • Open-minded, adept at developing/ assessing different options and solutions and adopting a helicopter view when needed

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Preferably a track record in audit management
  • Proven experience of managing staff
  • Experience of working across various departments of an agency and legal, compliance, commercial and client handling
