Client leaders are the main contact for other agency partners and are responsible for Mindshare’s reputation amongst them.  They should be able to clearly articulate the Mindshare story and ambition: Our belief in focusing on audiences, being human and creating valuable experiences.

The Client Leaders are responsible for the delivery, service and output on their clients.  They are responsible for working with the entire agency team on that account.  The CL must have a deep and strong relationship with key clients and should be known within the wider client company where appropriate.  Client Leaders are expected to be extremely knowledgeable about the client’s business in general, beyond just marketing in order to be able to create the appropriate business plan.  They must be able to see changes on the horizon and know when we need to make changes to our product and service before it is highlighted by the client.  Client leaders are responsible for the Mindshare reputation within their business, they must ensure that the client values the work we do.  They are responsible for championing and merchandising the great work we do back to the client and their wider organisation.

Key areas of competence expected for all Client Leaders


  • Recognised as a leader by all departments and individuals involved in the account
  • Mindful leadership that makes way for the broader team to build client relationships
  • Management of the resource across the business. Working with the Client Partner and HODs to remix the team and incorporate the new core services around data and audience
  • Responsible for the agency output on their accounts
  • Skilfully and sensitively manages churn and change on their accounts, communicates changes timely both internally and externally
  • Mentors the Account Managers in their team and actively helps them learn and progress


  • Responsible for the fees and resource management on their accounts. They must be fully aware of how they are using the agency in relation to the fee, contract and use of value.
  • Makes insightful and smart commercial choices about who attends client meetings to ensure out input is highly valued and that we use our time well
  • Contributes to growth through OOS services and new business
  • Understands the contract for each of their clients around what is in and out and sign up to opt ins. Understands fully how to articulate changes around contracts and terms with clients.


  • Known across agency as someone who brings people together to facilitate combined thinking and better output.
  • A strong personality and driving force in the agency to produce great thinking and output. Drives agency culture by ensuring the team work together and that key meetings are always face to face
  • Knows when to involve OOS in order to ensure we use resource smartly and give teams the time they need to produce their best work
  • Actively contributes to and attends agency events and meetings
  • Leads new business pitches successfully and collaboratively through the agency
  • Brave enough to take risks and try something that pushes them and the client outside of their comfort zone


  • Known across agency for having a deep understanding of our products and capabilities. Recognising the challenges for each team and knowing how to get the best of them.  In particular they must have a deep understanding of FAST, MPlatform and the Business Planning services.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the client’s business, culture and products. Demonstrates passion and interest in their client.  Inspires and educates broader team.  Takes time to bring new joiners up to speed so that the client gets the most value from each team member.
  • Always ensures their client is exposed to our broader work including, Huddle, Trends, this year next year, thought pieces and other agency events or content. The CL is the PR manager for Mindshare to the client.
  • Ensures they always know the latest information on key industry trends or challenges e.g Brand safety or viewability
