Associate Director – Digital Investment

Overview of role

MediaCom Investment is focused on driving commerciality and delivering best in class execution across all channels. This role sits within the Print and Digital Investment team, working across a number of high profile accounts, including TUI and CRUK, and is specifically focused on digital, across both direct IO buying and programmatic. We are looking for a natural leader who wants to step up and make a difference to their clients. We need an experience digital media professional who can help run a large team working across a multitude of clients at fast pace. You’ll need an understanding and a passion for not only of how to deliver excellent value for clients but how an agency makes money – and also a good understanding of the programmatic marketplace and how that is affecting digital display.

Reporting of the role

This role reports into the Joint Head of Digital Investment, Amy Lawrence.

Measures of success

In 3 months you would have…

1)       Become fully integrated in the wider team on your clients, and with their ways of working

2)       Made your mark on the wider team by identifying improvements to existing processes

3)       Got to know your clients’ approach to digital, and how that fits in their wider marketing mix

In 6 months you would have…

1)       Become fully up to speed on our approach to programmatic and inventory supply and be able to talk confidently about it

2)       Identified strategic opportunities to drive better value for our clients

3)       Developed a strong relationship with the day to day clients

4)       Worked with the heads of trading to create a future facing business plan for your clients

In 12 months you would have…

1)       Delivered an outstanding audit for your clients (where relevant)

2)       Streamlined processes and created more efficient ways of working which have had a clear benefit to MediaCom and the client

3)       Developed relationships with the more senior marketing contacts at your clients, as well as more senior stakeholders within MediaCom and at media owners

What you will need

  • To be passionate about the ever changing digital marketplace
  • Excited about the commercial side of our industry and how an agency makes money – as well as driving the best possible value for your clients
  • Have an inquisitive and keen to learn attitude
  • Strong client servicing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience managing large clients/budgets
  • At ease with the pace and scale of a large agency
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Established relationships with media owners and excellent understanding of the marketplace – both suppliers and tech
  • Happy working as part of a team, but also leading a team
  • Willing to muck in and get your hands dirty, to support more junior team members
  • Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Good delegation skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
