Job Title:                      Ecommerce Director, Platform Specialist

Role context:

Wavemaker Commerce is the dedicated ecommerce consulting practice at Wavemaker. We have a global team of 20 experts who work with our key clients on developing ecommerce strategies in a holistic way. Our work touches all parts of our client organizations and is firmly entrenched in the Wavemaker products team. As part of a focus on broadening our product team, and in response to client demand, we are significantly increasing our team in the UK. Our UK practice is a leader in the market, and is increasingly the template for how we roll out globally. In the past, our UK practice has delivered projects for the likes of Tiffany & Co., BMW, Beiersdorf, Colgate and Visa. The expanded Wavemaker Commerce UK team will be responsible for developing and delivering our strategy consultancy to our client base.


Key areas of responsibility:

Firstly, you will be the Amazon specialist within Wavemaker Commerce. You will provide specialist input into our consulting projects for Wavemaker Commerce and within the broader agency be the go-to person for insight into Amazon, across all platforms

Secondly, you will be expected to be part of strategy consultancy engagements. You will be part of consulting projects for specific client briefs where you will work with the engagement leads, and ideally lead some yourself, working with our clients to help them define clear Amazon and ecommerce strategies.

Thirdly, you will be expected to provide support on product development. As the hub for Wavemaker Commerce, and the largest office, the UK team is tasked with constantly improving our offering for the clients, which involves identifying trends in the wider industry and developing consulting solutions around these.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Amazon expertise to all stakeholders
  • Provide specialist input on ecommerce consulting projects regarding Amazon
  • Manage Wavemaker’s relationship at large with Amazon Retail and Amazon Media Group
  • Provide clear POV on evolution of Amazon across all platforms – AMG, Amazon Retail, Alexa etc.
  • Lead strategy engagements that focus on Amazon, especially for our FMCG client base


  1. Deliver client solutions as part of our strategy engagements
  • Work directly with our clients on ecommerce strategy projects
  • Identify the role of Amazon in client engagements
  • Support WM Commerce leadership on new business and client projects
  • Oversee client strategy implementation, working closely with internal and client teams
  • Manage key vendor relationships


  1. Inform overall product development
  • As part of the TAPP (Technology, Analytics, Performance and Product) team, and the lead on one of the key platforms, support the broader team on solution development
  • Work with our partners and the wider WM Commerce team on developing further products for our clients.


Other Responsibilities or Expectations:

  • Strong knowledge of the Amazon ecosystem, ideally with experience at Amazon
  • Understanding of the FMCG market a significant plus
  • Ability to develop a POV on technical and sectoral issues
  • Comfortable with data and analytics
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Experience with analytics and data tools a plus
