Role Overview

As part of Wavemaker's international department you will lead a major gaming brand plus some other clients from the agency's portfolio.

We are looking for somebody to help set the transformation agenda for our clients by helping them to navigate the challenges driven by data and digital disruption and ensure that 
Wavemaker is seen as their leading media, content and technology agency partner.

Additionally we are looking for somebody who can lead the rest of their team to ensure high quality delivery of both short term operational needs and longer term strategic objectives.

Role Responsibilities

Working  closely with senior stakeholders both within clients and Wavemaker you will be seen as a change agent bringing together the best capabilities from across Wavemaker and the wider GroupM and WPP extended family to lead the opportunities and challenges that your client is facing.

This will require you to build strong relationships with clients in media and marketing functions. It will also be necessary for you to extend your working connections and relationships with senior client stakeholders with responsibility for digital and data transformation as well as key members of the c-suite.

As well as driving the client's media agenda you will also play a pivotal role in the following:
  • Own the most senior client relationships and have a development plan for getting more ‘upstream’ to broaden Wavemaker’s exposure beyond marketing teams
  • Display a deep knowledge of the clients’ industry and how D&D disruption is affecting that vertical beyond the impact on media and marketing
  • Seek out opportunities beyond our core services
  • Quality control the overall delivery of international teams working closely and collaboratively with the Journey Planning and Journey Activation teams 
  • Own the TRR scores and other agreed measurement criteria
  • Foster innovative thinking and ideas with a particular emphasis on content, technology, innovation and the use of data
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with key agency partners (GroupM, WPP and external)
  • Own the client commercials and ensure that they are effective for the client and for Wavemaker

What we are looking for

We are looking for somebody who is a strong business leader with a wide range of skills and experience, who has a proven track-record of quickly absorbing new industry developments and adapting these to the needs of clients. This will include broad media knowledge including everything from television through to social influencing and audience based programmatic targeting.

A good understanding of data and the role and application of a DMP would be useful as would the ability to be a trusted partner in the area of content development and distribution. Some international knowledge would also be useful although not essential but an appreciation of working with different time zones and cultures would be helpful.

The ability to work and lead calmly under pressure and help the team prioritise multiple work streams and stakeholders is important as is a proactive approach to collaboration and a team ethic.

An understanding of the gaming industry would be a benefit although being a “gamer” is not essential but a good appreciation of the industry dynamics would be helpful in framing the opportunities and challenges the client currently faces.
