The Client


The Dell Account


MediaCom runs the Dell account globally, with our HQ in NY and client teams covering all regions, EMEA, APAC, LATAM and NA.

It is a top 3 account for MediaCom globally and as such is prestigious and well-regarded internally.

We provide end-to-end services for Dell, from strategy to planning to buying across all media, plus content strategy, SEO and some creative services. So it is a truly integrated account.


Dell is split into two businesses, DellEMC (large corporate IT solutions) and Dell CSB (Consumer & Small Business laptops).


The Team


The Dell team consists of 30+ dedicated members of staff on Dell working across the two sides of the Dell business.  We have dedicated account management teams who service each business unit as well as a search, ad-ops and reporting integrated within our team unit.


The Data and Reporting Manager sits in the specialist digital team under the Head of Digital.

The data and reporting manager is also responsible for managing a reporting executive.






The Role


The Data and Reporting Manager will:

  • Manage team to ensure the core Dell database is ran correctly and without errors.
    • Understand the full data processing system.
    • Spot check data regularly to ensure quality.
    • Work with teams to problem solve processing issues.


  • Work with partners to ensure new data requirements are integrated correctly.
    • Work with tech partners like VisualIQ and DV to ensure data is ingested correctly and in a usable manner.
    • Work with publishers to ensure any required additional data is ingested in a standard format.
    • Work with MediaCom executional teams to ensure process is followed for any internal data inputs.
    • Work very closely with the Planning/AdOps teams to develop any naming convention changes and ensure these are followed.


  • Work with Dell to understand differences between Dell and MediaCom data.
    • Develop thorough understanding of differences between Dell and MediaCom data
    • Monitor variance and liaise with clients where necessary to explain possible reasons.
    • Work to minimise variance over time through developments to our reporting product where possible.


  • Manage developments to our planning template:
    • Ensure any new labelling requirements are integrated including naming convention management.
    • Integrate any new planning requirements such as attribution metrics.


  • Develop our reporting views that show to our clients:
    • Weekly Reports
    • QBR/PCA Templates
    • Any other views


  • Develop tools for internal use:
    • Budget tracking tools
    • Performance analysis dashboards.
    • Train team members in best practice use of these tools for optimisation.


  • Investigate data trends
    • Investigate any trends in complex historical data sets to answer adhoc and varied client questions.







Skills, Behaviours and Experience Required



  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with high quantities of data
  • Candidate must have had a hands-on experience of planning and buying media
  • Candidate must have strong experience in media reporting
  • Experience working with different marketing measurement frameworks such as attribution modelling and econometric modelling
  • Experience of working across an international multi market remit
  • Thorough understanding of how digital ad tracking works
  • Strong experience using Omniscope (data processing program) or a similar programme
  • Excellent competency using Microsoft Excel, good understanding of Word and PowerPoint
  • High attention to detail
  • Highly numerate with proven analytical skills
  • Team player with a winning can-do attitude
  • Proficient time management; able to handle a number of tasks at once and effectively manage their own time
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal English language skills/grammar
  • Ability to influence and manage a complex network of stakeholders
  • Experience in managing a team of junior members of staff and providing day to day support as well as mid to long term career development plans
  • Experience in developing and executing multimillion pound campaigns across international markets
  • Advanced understanding of digital principles, partnerships, mobile, data and analytics for management
  • Ability to challenge clients in a structured and well thought through way
  • Experience of working with a high-profile technology client
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work with colleagues at all levels
