The Mediacom International Digital team is at the forefront of that structure.  Servicing both centrally executed campaigns as well as coordinating and supporting strategic directions across markets.  We work on a mix of blue chip clients for both direct and brand led initiatives including but not limited to:  Proctor & Gamble, Shell, Allianz, GSK & Bose.  Last year we won eBay into that portfolio and recently an exciting vacancy for a Digital Planner has been made available.

The Role

You will be involved in the actual planning and implementation of digital branding campaigns for the UK. You will work with established eBay tools and processes and best practices for success as well as facilitate innovative opportunities in mainly the brand space (digital response work may occur on an ad hoc basis) to advance this client forward both supporting and challenging for mutual progress.  Being a key stakeholder to the success of the eBay and Mediacom partnership and becoming a respected player both within and external to the business. 

The role requires a good understanding of digital principles, partnerships, mobile, data and analytics for performance management cross market and cross media. It requires an ability to be highly motivated, self-starting and self-critical to drive a best in class service and practice for eBay.

Our Opportunity

The UK Digital Planner will need to be involved in and work with the Senior Manager and Digital Director to implement UK led strategic priorities and approach for the entire eBay organization. This will include managing eBay’s annual partnership deals as well as activation guidelines across display, video & lead generation as well as driving advocacy channels as a core activation pillar & lead generation channel.

Objectives of the Role: 

You will primarily be involved in the actual planning, implementation and reporting of digital branding buys for UK with opportunities to also be involved in other markets (Fr, It, Es) on an ad hoc basis.

A key aspect will be to manage daily tasks with bigger projects that will involve strategy and analysis of eBay’s campaigns identifying areas of growth for the client.

The role involves regular client communication therefore we are looking someone with good communication skills and confidence to report to client via email, calls and meetings.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

1.         Strategic Skills

·         Assist in the delivery of digital strategy in UK with the digital senior staff across all eBay business including investment guidelines and planning approaches in the display & mobile arena  

·         Focus on the advancement of your planning skills utilising Insights and data into the best allocations of budgets against a defined strategic framework that you feed into and influence

·         Support the delivery of test and learn programmes for technology evaluation and engagement measurement to ensure we are maximising return on investment  

·         Identify best digital techniques and tools to support campaigns and optimisation and manage those upwards in the organisation for the creation of proposals.

·         Ensure that our digital work and projects are of high quality to submit for PR and award recognition  

·         Help to develop our product in the digital field growing the eBay business through strength of success stories with senior team members.

2.  Client Account Management

·         Build positive relationships with eBay working in collaboration with senior stakeholders and the client account lead

·         Develop relationships with eBay key partners and support the management of our own relationships with those same partners collectively to drive incremental benefits

·         Play your role in cooperation and collaboration as part of the wider eBay team

·         Work to deliver against client commitments, with a primary focus on client satisfaction for all areas of digital

3.  Operating and Technical Requirements

·         Trafficking and set up of campaigns planned.

·         Troubleshooting with trafficking team and publishers to ensure a smooth campaign set up and launch.

·         Feed into negotiations in collaboration with EBay for new & existing partnerships

·         Manage buying and execution of campaigns across these partnerships within your direct and matrix team structure getting deeply involved in the day to day management of campaign performance and outcomes

·         Balance direct response and branding campaigns across the partner sites using advanced analytical skills to help plan and manage the allocation of inventory between both campaign types

·         Evaluate and benchmark branding campaign performance in order to effectively optimise activity and improve overall efficiency

·         Ensure smooth working processes in order to deliver a timely and accurate service to the business.

4.   People Management

·         Ensure individuals workloads are managed and prioritised in line with client needs and SLA’s

·         Clearly outline tasks and objectives with the Digital Manager and Digital Director, with specific deliverables and timelines for progression.

·         To have identified training requirements with Line Manager, and a formal plan for delivery over 12months.

·         Assist the Digital Manager in the day to day running of the team.

·         Highlight great team work, and client initiatives. Demonstrate examples of Digital best practice to the wider team, and contribute to department and wider agency PR and communications.

·         Diarise weekly ‘WIP’ catch-ups, and regular task reviews.

·         Complete weekly time sheets, holiday/sickness forms, CPD

Key Performance Indicators:

·         Client:  Help to grow Ebay, retain existing scopes and achieving high client satisfaction scores

·         People: Identification and development yourself and your junior team members digital function through skill transfer in the hierarchy 

·         Revenue: Contribute towards the achievement of account/function revenue targets

·         Growth: Grow Ebay and support future discipline and market growth

·         Personal development: Positive My360 feedback from manager, peers and clients
