Objectives of the Role


The primary purpose of this role is to develop marketing collateral, insights and build client information to support the New Business and Marketing teams in promoting MediaCom’s vision, product set and capability in the market. As such, time, task and function management is key to the success of this designation.


Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability:


1. New Business Coordination and development

          Manage the New Business client database / list by performing regular updates to ensure that all the information recorded is correct

          Responsible for conducting desktop research on all prospective clients and compiling reports based on this to share with senior management

          Participate in pitches and other New Business activities as and when required to do so.

          Cold calling, communicating and engaging with prospective clients.

  • Planning and organising meetings
  • Taking down action points in meetings and compiling status reports



2.  Marketing

  • Compiling and distributing MediaCom marketing material to all current and prospective clients
  • Finding innovative ways to communicate the MediaCom brand message to the South African industry
  • Liaising with the Global Marketing team to ensure that all requests and communication is managed and met
  • Organising all MediaCom events, workshops and client engagement sessions & develop schedules to manage the planning process
  • Analysing, monitoring and investigating competitor marketing initiatives and sharing this knowledge with the MediaCom team
  • Coordination of all internal and external marketing related meetings which include, case studies, awards committee and status updates
  • Writing, entering and coordinating awards submissions
  • Communicating with suppliers, partners and other stakeholders around any marketing related products, tools and other resources
  • Attend meetings, workshops and other engagement sessions with relevant parties outside the office
  • Prepare weekly marketing reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct market research and provide insights on MediaCom’s position, competitors and opportunities within its market category
  • Assist in building a marketing plan to engage all stakeholders
  • Ensure that all marketing initiatives are met in a timely manner
  • Assist with the creation of training and other knowledge sharing material
  • Ensure that all internal marketing projects are managed efficiently and that all deadlines are met
  • Assist with PR duties as and when required
