MEC Analytics & Insight (A&I) supports MEC clients and the MEC business through the development and application of research, social insight, analytics, data and technology services.

Manage the day to day research needs of internal and external MEC clients alongside the development and provision of bespoke quantitative and qualitative research projects for MEC.
Deliver research projects which are innovative, insightful and cost effective.
Manage at least one executive, lead and inspire them and be a role model for all Analytics & Insight Managers and Executives.
Internally promote and train when necessary the usage and application of key media research tools.
Keep abreast of new research techniques and methodologies.
Be a key point of contact for media owners and suppliers.
Be key contact and take ownership of key client accounts.
Promote key internal solutions such as MEC Momentum, MEC Webtrack and Live panel to clients and MEC staff

Key Responsibilities:

Client and A&I Bespoke Research

  • Develop client research briefs through thorough understanding of clients’ business and objectives
  • Help comms outline key KPI’s for campaigns and deliver the most suitable measurement solution.
  • Initialise and manage all phases of a quant research study: proposal, supplier selection and management, analysis, presentation, and recommendations
  • Initialise, manage, and conduct all phases of a qual research study: proposal, recruitment, discussion guide, moderating, analysis and presentation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media owners and research suppliers
  • Have a good working knowledge of social insight tools and ensure they are applied to client briefs across the agency
  • Provide everyday support for pitch responses, client presentations and general research questions from our internal clients
  • Maintain knowledge of key consumer trends and industry innovations
  • Attend client and supplier presentations and distribute relevant material
  • Inspire, manage and develop executives within the team
  • Seek out and maintain knowledge of industry research and tools.
  • Use secondary sources such as Mintel and Nvision to collate relevant information for internal clients and compile presentations when required
  • Attend relevant training courses, conferences, seminars and breakfast meetings to promote MEC

 A&I tools

  • Maintain understanding and promote use of all tools and offers within the A&I portfolio.
  • Ensure the internal and external promotion of tools
  • Assist and train internal users where necessary.
  • Encourage and define best practice of tools
  • Promote MEC tools such as Live Panel, Webtrack and Momentum

Skills And Behaviours

 

Candidates must have :

A background in media research or another market research environment.

Demonstrable experience in working with media research tools, spotting and understanding trends, and converting data to insight.

Extensive experience of managing both qual and quant projects, including moderating experience

A strong interest in consumer insight and trends and the ability to seek out and distribute information

Ability to develop strong working relationships with other MEC departments and clients

Have strong numerical and analytical skills.

A desire to lead and encourage junior members of the team

Manage workloads of both yourself and the team

Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

Advanced user of media industry tools including TGI, NMR and Telmar

Excellent time management and adherence to deadlines

Experience & qualifications

The ideal candidate will ideally be educated to degree level or above and will be experienced in a communications planning/ media or research agency.
