Job Title:SEO Assistant

 

About the role

The Organic Performance Assistant’s role is to assist the wider team in delivering high quality work and world-class client service that creates strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in SEO and organic search or online marketing alongside a basic knowledge of digital content marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Account Manager to research and prepare background information for briefs and presentations
  • Developing an understanding of the client’s business, brand, sector, competitors and audiences
  • Pulling reports and providing suggestions as to where we may have seen spikes or falls in organic traffic
  • Proactively supporting the account team
  • Keeping up to date with SEO news and have the ability to discuss trends which may be applicable to clients
  • Making onsite technical recommendations to share with the wider team
  • Setting up meetings and booking meeting rooms where required
  • Be an effective ambassador for MEC in all dealings

 

About you

We are looking for a confident and articulate candidate who is keen to pursue a career in SEO or digital marketing. The ideal candidate will be extremely proactive and someone who has the confidence to feed in thoughts and suggestions in improving clients’ visibility in the search results. Whilst agency experience is not expected, the candidate should be extremely keen to learn more about this market discipline and progress in this area.

About us

The Organic Performance team is part of WM Content – the content division of MEC. We work extremely closely with the Partnerships, Digital Engagement and Sports and Events team to provide valuable content which works hard for our clients. Our current clients include BMW, MINI, Aviva, Nationwide and PHE however after several new business this list is likely to quickly expand. The Organic Performance team is split between Global and UK, however we are looking for a keen new member of the team to support the UK side in providing exceptional service to our clients.

What are the best bits about the role?

  • There is always something new to learn. There are often big changes within the industry which often shakes up what you are currently doing and means you will have something different to learn about
  • You will see how the work that you are doing aligns with wider marketing channels across the business
  • Coming up with creative ways to reflect consumers changing search behaviour within a client’s site

What is the team like?

The team is spread out across two halves – global and UK. This role is hiring for the UK side whose clients include BMW, MINI, Aviva and Nationwide. Currently the team is fairly small, however we are going through a period of growth at the moment with several new business wins and it is likely the team will continue to expand, especially with the merger with Maxus in the New Year.
