Position Overview

The Data Operations Expert will work with key project and operations team teams to take operational ownership of data solutions, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and solution development teams throughout the project production life-cycle.

We are looking for a Data Operations Expert with good experience managing data solutions and technologies. This is great opportunity to work in an Agile environment for one of the biggest players in the media industry.

Responsibilities

The role will comprise of the following aspects:

  • Focused on Data Analysis, Data warehouse, Data Quality, Data Governance, Business Intelligence, Reporting, Big Data, Analytics.
  • Become part of the project governance function to ensure business access to the platforms, validated and met with systems lifecycle.
  • Interpret business issues, operates to solve them maintaining a strong governance over data and access policies.
  • Contribute to manage the process with documentation and reporting where necessary to ensure that knowledge is retained within the team and organisation.
  • Generate supplementary governance documentation e.g. data mapping, data quality report, status reporting.
  • Take an active involvement in solution testing, ensuring business needs are met in UAT.
  • Proactively communicate to all stakeholders with up to date, relevant information
  • Participate in the project meetings to review progress, issues, risks and blockers including daily stand-ups, iteration planning meetings and retrospectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
  • Prior experience on Data Analysis projects or services.
  • Experience using several of the following:  Agile; Data Warehousing; Business Intelligence; SQL; Data Modelling; Data flow mapping; Source to target mapping; Data visualization; Data Quality; Testing & data validation techniques

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Familiar working within an Agile development team, working closely with development teams, operations team, end users and business stakeholders
  • Working with 3rd party software houses / offshore development
  • Experience working on the main tools and technology in Database, Data Integration and Data Visualization (Sql server 2008 more, SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, ETL, Tableau, Power BI, QlikVeiew ).

 Desirable

  • Experience of performing analysis and troubleshoting
  • Good working knowledge of the Media Industry, specifically Advertising and Marketing
  • Possesses a good understanding of technology trends and movements
  • Service management attitude
  • Service management certifications
