Operations Executive

Entry Level: Recent Graduates and Students London, England

Description

Position at GroupM

An introduction to the [m]Insights Operations team

What does it mean to work within [m]Insights Operations?

[m]Insights is GroupM’s leading audience discovery and consumer intelligence technology, collating billions of data points from diverse sources to provide a unique and single view of the consumer.  Powerful functionality allows users to identify, amplify and activate audiences in real-time across 45 million people in the UK, and the Operations team is responsible for the management and maintenance of the imports of data that underpins the tool.

You will gain exposure to a variety of teams across the business, from those who plan and activate campaigns off the back of [m]Insight learnings to the team producing reports on insights at industry sector-level to our agencies. The operations team also deals with the technical set up of links to new data partners, and offers first-line support to all users.

What is awesome about this role?

We are at the start of a very exciting journey as part of the [m]Platform rollout, and this team will play a key role in supporting this implementation. We will be responsible for creating business best practice for many new processes, and this will involve engaging with a number of different teams across a wide variety of clients. By becoming a super-user you will be able to assist others with queries on the [m]Insights technology, and you will be able to help with refining and automating the processes required to keep the tool running smoothly.

What is the team like?

We are a small team of 9 with a range of specialisms and experience, and we’re part of a much larger Digital team in a big open-plan office which means there are lots of opportunities to collaborate and share our knowledge and learn from each other. There is always lots of opportunity to socialise outside of work and we have regular Digital team get-togethers and agency drinks.

What key attributes fit well within this team?

  • Highly numerate with an analytical mindset.
  • A tech savvy individual, with an interest in learning about the digital advertising world.
  • Good organisational skills and able to coordinate on multiple tasks.
  • Intuitive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Be able to follow processes.
  • Have an enquiring mind and be willing to get involved.

A note from Nick Causton who is the Operations Lead, regarding what they are looking for in the next person to join the team;

The ideal candidate would be very analytical and highly numerate, and they would possess the ability to follow an instinctive “hunch” and investigate when something in the data doesn’t seem quite right and follow it through to a positive conclusion. They would be very personable and have a ”can do” attitude. They should be able to follow instruction, ask questions and work on multiple projects at the same time.
