Media Lead, (Audio & Print)

In this role, you will: 

  • Be the agency expert across your specialist media channel. 
  • Curate robust and credible strategies across their portfolio of clients which enable us to deliver commercial growth, whilst all the while ensuring we deliver client PRFs/guarantees. 
  • Have a thorough commercial understanding of their client business and a technical expertise to maximise opportunities to deliver client PRF/guarantees.  
  • Demonstrate excellent strategic planning capabilities with detailed operational understanding of our tools and products.
  • Establish collaborative relationships across the agency working closely with Client Leads, actively seeking creative and innovative media solutions.
  • Be responsible for the pastoral care of a wide team (AD, AM and AE).  They will ensure every member of their team has a clear progression roadmap, reviewing on an on-going basis their objectives and development.
  • Continuously ensure their team feel inspired and motivated and that they are working towards both client and departmental goals. 
  • Be responsible for creating an ambitious, collaborative, and positive culture ensuring ongoing productivity across the team.

Core Responsibilities 

  

1. Client servicing 

  • You will have a strong working relationship. You are someone they trust and know they can count on to always deliver great results.
  • Clients will see you as the Media expert and value your opinion and guidance at a senior level.
  • You will be a key point person for escalation of issues and bigger proposals – you will be a strong project manager and able to prioritise and manage responses delivering solutions as required.
  • You have established collaborative relationships across the agency working closely with Client Leads on your accounts, actively seeking creative and innovative media solutions. 
  1. Campaign Management, Performance & Commercial
  • Responsible for the PRF delivery across client patch. Understand your PRFs/guarantees and any contractual bonus/malice schemes through working closely with the commercial team. You will set up clear and defined lines of reporting across your team/teams so that you are always confident of your PRF position.
  • Lead your team to ensure all buying metrics are hit and delivery is controlled, with admin across buying, forecasts and billing always up to date and accurate. 
  • Responsible for ensuring team have booked and managed the billing process correctly to ensure accurate third party Media Audit delivery.
  • You will understand how to maximise the deals and incorporate them into day to day buying. You will be an expert across all WM and GroupM deal parameters – knowing how to maximise value and any constraints/considerations when dealing with non-spot initiatives.
  • Responsible for calculating client value requirements across different PRF models and liaise with trading team to manage this value.
  • Ensure all trading issues are managed and escalated if required to GM.

  

3. Team Management  

  • You should lead and create a team environment that is both inspiring and hardworking recognizing abilities within your team and providing support and leadership where necessary.
  • Responsible for managing all levels from AE, AM to AD.  Set and monitor objectives for AE, AM and AD to ensure your team have clear goals and a progression roadmap.
  • Manage and provide solutions around conduct and any conflict issues within the team. Ensure serious matters are escalated.
  • Responsible for cascading information to team through regular team and individual catch ups. 

  

4. Media Strategy and Planning 

  • You have full responsibility for the quality of your team’s output. This should be best in class and always looking to improve the standard of response by showcasing WM tools and incorporating new trends/products – all structured to answer the brief with a clear rationale. 
  • You will be hungry to find innovative and creative solutions to inspire and excite your clients.
  • You will ensure your team have been given the required information to respond with clear KPIs always set and have the support to challenge briefs where required.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring there is a clear strategy for the implementation of commercial requirements through our planning.
  • Become an expert in all WM Media tools and systems, able to use and explain their use with clarity.
  • Participate in WM new business pitches, creating a meaningful and credible Media story alongside senior support. Present in new business/incumbent pitches when required.
