About the team

The successful applicant will be working in a close-knit Audio-Visual planning and buying team of approximately six people. Your clients are likely to consist of: 20th Century Fox, TK Maxx, BP, Treatwell, with Nike Slater & Gordon and Haribo being in the wider group. The team has a wealth of experience in Media, with also being long-standing Mindshare AV members: BD 11 years, AD 8 years, AD 9 years and AM 3 years.

Fox are a leading entertainment brand and are Mindshare’s biggest new client in the last four years. We operate to the highest standards, via a thorough planning and buying process, in order to achieve the highest quality media results. This will require you to apply the depth of your knowledge, or we will build it. They are a highly demanding client (life on the account moves very fast) and we apply a bespoke approach to their media which makes job satisfaction very high. They are very good client to work on, especially considering typical entertainment accounts (they are not like this).

It is important that the applicant is able to converse with clients not only about the TV market but also understanding how other parts of the AV mix, and how they work together. You will be part of a team that is always looking out for bright new talent to lead the market and further improve our high quality team, we welcome the creation of innovative ideas. It is our job to ensure we provide exceptional client satisfaction and we stay at the forefront of the luxury market.

BP are smaller with a more traditional approach to their Media. They are one of Mindshare’s longest standing clients in the UK and Globally. Their spends may not be what they once were, but we would want you to lead the AV activity.

Nike are Nike – they are intense when they are active, enjoyable but tough.

TK Maxx are in some ways the most typical client in terms of their approach, knowledge and functioning within Media. They require a hands-on approach and we want you to lead the account to deliver results. 

Treatwell are a new client though GROW. We work slightly differently to a typical client as they are new to media so we are building their brand with the client and developing our strategy based on where they are in their business development. This consists of both Brand and DR strategy, and we explore all AV in order to supply them with the best possible response to brief.

The Exchange-AV team sit together which gives us the opportunity to share knowledge and offer support to one and another. We are a very close group who genuinely get along and want to help each other. You will find plenty of support both within your direct team and the wider group. From you we expect you to work collaboratively and hold the same approach as the rest of the team, whilst also bringing your own personality to the role (and the team).

The Role Objective

Your primarily responsibilities will include: the planning and campaign delivery; the day to day running of the accounts across all AV media; the output and progression other staff members in the team. Additional to this the job expands into various areas of great significance for the group. Your knowledge and ability to handle the responsibilities of the accounts will be vital progressions points. History of proven audit handling will be a significant bonus. Your ability to work closely with the clients, along with the media planning teams will be essential. We expect the highest standards to be applied and will demand a lot from you, however, we will support and help you to reach the highest level should you hold the correct drive and attitude.

You will need to demonstrate you’re naturally thorough in your work, with high attention to detail and hold a big desire for media.

Our Account Directors have an insatiable appetite to learn and challenge, to embrace new challenges, attend workshops and training, and manage their team accordingly. GroupM offer opportunities to expand your knowledge across all aspects of media and we encourage you to take advantage of this.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to formulate and deliver strong strategic and implementational plans
  • Full management of all the day to day running of the accounts
  • Responsible for handling Comms requests and become a key person for answers
  • Exceed client expectations
  • Ensuring negotiated terms of trading are being delivered and deal with bigger issues which may occur with media owners; market conditions and client demands
  • Solid, thorough, intelligent and creative AV strategy and planning
  • Advocates and challenges client leadership and clients with regards to AV
  • Saleshouse coordination in-line with expectations
  • Liaise with media auditors and preparatory work for audits, ensuring delivery of audit targets
  • Be a proactive force for AV in all company initiatives (e.g. Huddle/ideation/Village forums/new business pitches)
  • The development of the junior members of the team on all aspects of the role is essential.
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning through company initiatives and training opportunities

Experience Required

First class buying of Television campaigns is essential, along with knowledge and confidence in Implementational Planning across AV platforms. Television experience is a necessity, as is experience in VOD and Cinema; Radio experience will be viewed favourably.  Previous experience of Sponsorship, AFPs and Promotional executions will be viewed as a positive.

Knowledge of working on audited business is a factor which is preferable, though not essential if key competencies regarding an understanding of market dynamics, and the art of negotiation can be demonstrated appropriately in the interview.

A working knowledge of current and future market developments is expected, which is in keeping with our desire to employ people with an insatiable appetite for media and understanding the market in which we work.

Historic team management skills are also a necessity ensuring your ability to help the fulcrum within an enthusiastic and progressive team, with the assistance of the Business Director on the account.
