An MEC Wavemaker Account Manager will work as an integral member of the content partnerships team working on the day to day management of clients to include LBG (comprising Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland).

The role will include activation planning and project managing the day to day delivery of content partnerships covering mediums including: digital, radio, print and TV. You will build strong relationships with your clients and act as a specialist advisor to them and their other agencies to maximise their partnership opportunities.  Candidates should have good project management and media experience with exposure to working with media partners.

  1. Client Servicing:
  • Conveying a professional manner in all client communication with timely and accurate responses
  • Build strong, effective relationships with clients maintaining relationships of trust and respect
  1. Strategy & Planning:
  • You will understand the Wavemaker strategic process
  • Based on your knowledge of the strategic process you will understand the role of strategy and planning within Wavemaker and which people to engage to support client responses
  • You will have a basic understanding of wider strategic services including: Audits, Assessment & Evaluation
  • As part of the brief response team, you will be responsible for helping generate creative ideas
  • Based on the brief / strategy developed you will contact media owners / rights holders to collect the information required to sell in the idea
  • You will read all briefs received and share thoughts with AD & BD
  • You will be asked to support the strategic development process alongside your AD and BD as required
  1. Campaign Management & Performance:
  • Act as central point of client liaison for all campaigns being project managed
  • Quality control check and take full ownership of the output of your Executives / Assistants around project management of campaigns
  • Ensure every campaign you pick up to manage has a clear set of measurable outcomes and that all parties (client, client teams and partners) are agreed on these outcomes / KPI’s. You will be responsible for working alongside the partner to meet and exceed any agreed targets.
  • Work with the Client Lead / Business Director to ensure that campaigns are delivered with the original strategic concept in mind – and the campaign continues to reflect this
  • Ensure campaign is delivered in line with project timeline, and that any required changes are agreed with partner and client
  • Ensure all campaigns managed included a full media plan and/or content ecosystem that all parties (client, agency and media owner) are in agreement with
  • Work alongside colleagues from other Wavemaker teams (DE, OP, S+E) to ensure all aspects of the campaign are delivered in an integrated fashion
    • You should take responsibility to arrange and chair any required campaign performance meetings between all parties
  1. Commercials:
  • Accurate and timely reporting of hours on timesheets
  • Accurate and timely inputting of all media bookings on the appropriate media bookings system and reconciliation of all digital bookings within the reconciliation window
  • Responding and resolving any PIQ queries in a timely manner
  • Maintaining relevant sign off and PO information, tracking PO’s against all costs
  • Ensuring all fee billing instructions are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensuring any cost invoices have the right PO associated and follow the correct sign off procedure
  • A good understanding of the MEC Wavemaker commercial model
  • Understanding the resource allocated to specific tasks on scope of work and monitoring hours – flagging to your line manager when these are higher or lower than expected
  1. Team Management
  • You will work collaboratively with team members from wider MEC representing MEC Wavemaker in a professional manner
  • You will manage and potentially line report over junior members of the team, prioritising their workload and facilitating their development
  • Proactive development of account teams’ expertise in all areas of content partnerships and activation
  1. Innovation & Collaboration
  • Help your Associate Director and Business Director leverage key media owner/ rights holder/ partner relationships and client data insights to produce work which drives tangible business results for our clients
  • Along with your director, build out strong relationships with other teams within MEC to establish strong ways of working
  • Develop strong relationships with relevant media owners/ partners at an appropriate level
  • In conjunction with your Directors, work with key media owners/ partners (including MEC Tonic and MEC E-Commerce) to identify new products and innovations our clients should be testing, to ensure your clients activity is best in class
  • Actively seek out new trends, industry new / updates and product launches and share with wider team
  1. Technical Skills
  • Developing skills on core commercial systems such as FORMS, AURA and PIQ
  • You will need to have an excellent working knowledge of industry and MEC tools and systems (e.g. Metis / Prisma, TechEdge, Adazzle) and must ensure that your executives are using them correctly to monitor performance and finance
