About the role

Unilever is now looking to integrate the role of media and online consumer journey in a deeper way, using data, technology, and best practice media execution to do so. This role will be crucial to the success of this business objective.  The role is unique as it has the ability to impact the business directly and work hands on with the client and their most valued partners, the retailers. We have a great working relationship with the client team, have a very healthy business and have a great network across the globe to support.

The role will work in conjunction with our brand planning teams and a key responsibility will be the planning and buying of digital media real estate across key online retailers, such as Amazon and Tesco for all Unilever product categories.

Skills and Experience

  • Digital Account Manager experience from within a media agency
  • FMCG, Retail, E-Commerce/Shoppers Market and Direct Response experience is a plus
  • Thorough understanding of various types of media - specific, but not limited to digital, mobile, social media, digital content partnerships, e-commerce and video
  • Proficient in reporting and analytics - strong analytical and strategic thinker who can interpret data at a glance
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with the operational skills to ensure self-directed projects and ideas are seen through to execution
  • Comfortable working with budgets and numbers
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and detail oriented
  • Assertive, creative, team player and proven sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritise multiple demands (retailer, client, agency) simultaneously


  • Work to implement the brand’s overall media strategy in the context of changing marketplace conditions and opportunities. This initial responsibility is to drive forward the Unilever business with two key UK online retailers.
  • Help lead media strategies for your channels and set KPI’s
  • Oversee a retail media agency to develop and execute plans – GIG and Dunnhumby
  • Interact regularly with the brand teams and senior management
  • Collaborate internally across divisions and externally with partners to create compelling and relevant messaging online
  • Manage media budget for on-line retailers, such as Tesco & Amazon
  • Maintain and communicates up-to-date records of the implementation of the media plan
  • Provides research and analysis to manage various issues that arise in the execution of the tactical plan
  • Ability to differentiate and optimise media campaigns
  • Develop and/or oversee the development of all media reporting, benchmarking and analysis of media campaigns; proven digital marketing analytical ability
  • Maintain and develop agency relationships with current and new media vendors; evaluate new media types/outlets
