About the role

In simple terms, what is a Media Analyst?

You will provide support to Global Investment team, reporting to an investment Director and Manager based in London, supporting local GroupM markets and working on a wide range of clients and multiple categories (Telecommunications, Movies, FMCG, Home Furnishings, Luxurythe list goes on).  There is certainly lots to learn and plenty of scope to be challenged.

You will gain expertise in all areas of trading in media, build commercial awareness and gain knowledge of how media agencies work beyond any other entry level role in media. Over time you will develop an invaluable skillset including negotiation skills, network management, data analysis & a knowledge of global media markets and buying mechanics.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team in an extremely important area of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge, co-ordinate, and measure GroupM’s media buying performance on key global accounts.
  • Analyse detailed client buying data points against pre-determined benchmarks to provide in-depth buying analysis.
  • Help train local GroupM teams in the value creation definition and reporting process by helping them to identify value driven through the media buying process.
  • Support the local GroupM team’s efforts to maximise our incentive income stream, through training on clients’ contractual frameworks.
  • Develop key relationships with third party auditors ensuring a smooth media buying audit process.
  • Support the New Business team on multi-media pitches.
  • Seek projects outside immediate area of responsibility to broaden your media awareness and add value to the network.
  • Create and update local market trading “landscapes” for GroupM and client education.
  • Manage your career development, by attending all relevant internal training and reading and researching widely to ensure continuous learning.

About you

What are the attributes that would be suited for this role?

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate an analytical and a problem solving approach in a fast-paced industry. Our work requires an eye for detail and accuracy, a strong work ethic and a thirst for developing into a global media investment professional. Although media experience is desired, it is not necessary. Other key attributes we are looking for are
