In this position, you have full ownership of the quality of delivery and can align this with commercial considerations. Here you understand your PRFs inside out, with a full knowledge of the wider structure.

Part of the role places greater emphasis on partnerships and innovation. You will need to be always pushing the AV agenda, with up to date knowledge of innovations that will shape the future.

Client Servicing

  • You will have a strong working relationship. You are someone they trust and know they can count on to always deliver great results. You can anticipate what they will want and adapt responses to individual requirements.
  • Clients will see you as the Expert and value your opinion and guidance at a senior level. Here you will confidently present market docs, sell in ideas and proposals. Equally, help them to navigate successfully through specific/wider issues becoming their consultant.
  • You will lead your team to ensure service and quality levels are high. Any issues should be managed so Clients are not met with surprises at the post campaign/audit stage.
  • You will have a full understanding of your client’s industry sector, together with their competitors. Within the understanding for the competitor set you would need to be able to call on examples in meetings, be the first to notify the client of new activations and opportunities.


Campaign Management & Performance

  • Lead your team to ensure all buying metrics are hit and delivery is controlled, with admin always up to date and accurate.
  • Ensure effective time management and prioritisation across the team to meet deadlines. You set clear and defined lines of reporting across your team.
  • You can no longer be involved in every level of detail of the day to day but you have the experience to know what is the right balance, when to step in and have the foresight to anticipate and head off potential issues.
  • You will understand how to maximise the deals and incorporate them into day to day buying.
  • An understanding of the complex video space to deliver on specific VOD challenges.


  Team Management

  • You should lead and create a team environment that is both inspiring and hardworking.
  • Instil a culture of on-going learning and development.
  • Impart your knowledge and push your team to deliver best in industry strategic responses.
  • Set and monitor clear objectives to ensure your team have clear goals.
  • Make feedback a key part of the way you manage – rewarding excellent work and providing constructive direction where required
  • Set the required approach to the ways of working within the group - approach to lunches, smarter working, what they should so if they are late or off sick etc.
  • Manage and provide solutions around conduct and any conflict issues within the team. Ensure serious matters at raised to Head of Dept/Deputy for further escalation.


           Strategy and Planning

  • You have full responsibility for the quality of your team’s output. This should be best in class and always looking to improve the standard of response by show casing agency tools and incorporating new trends/products – all structured to answer the brief with a clear rationale.
  • You will also ensure your team have been given the required information to respond with clear KPIs always set and have the support to challenge briefs where required.



  • You will be an expert across all deal parameters. How to maximise value and any constraints/considerations when dealing with non-spot initiatives.
  • Understand your PRFs/guarantees and any contractual bonus/malus schemes through working closely with the Commercial team.
  • Be confident in calculating Client value requirements across different PRF models and liaise with Head of value management to manage this value.
  • Set up clear and defined lines of reporting across your team so that you are always confident of your PRF position.
  • Ensure all trading issues are managed and escalated if required to Head/Deputy head of AV
  • Overall responsibility for accuracy of book numbers/forecasts/ campaign £ bookings
  • Ensure the team action book moves to deadlines and always communicate status if the move has been actioned/in progress.


           Innovation and Collaboration

  • You have established collaborative relationships across the agency. You work closely with Planners and the other specialist leads on your accounts on both day to day/ wider Client areas and together actively seek creative and innovative media solutions.
  • Excellent relations with Media Owners at a senior level across all AV channels.
  • Another key relationship is Auditors and you should look to build their trust and respect.


      Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • You will be as the expert in TV, VOD, Cinema and Radio trading and marketplace. You should have strong and clear viewpoints on market issues and topics.

 In depth knowledge of areas outside of AV e.g. Sponsorship/Product Placement

  • Systems: MediaOcean, Metis, Advantedge, WebKarma, DVID, DoubleClick, IAS, Double Verify, Sales Edge, AV Fusion, J-ET, RACE, K2, Deal Manager, DFA.
  • PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Ad Dynamix.
