Job Title:AV Assistant


What are we looking for;

We are looking a new member to join our amazing AV team within MEC working on some of the best clients about. No matter if you don’t have any experience within Media, what we are looking for is someone with the right attitude (see below) and a passion for all things TV, Radio, VOD or cinema. If you do have experience then great, we are looking for someone who has either worked previously in AV or maybe media owner side. What is AV;

AV stands for Audio Visual and this means the team are specialist TV, VOD (video on Demand), cinema and radio planners & buyers. The day to day role is incredibly wide ranging, from negotiating spots in the latest TV shows, to championing VOD to clients & immersing yourself in the latest cinematic advancements, to name just a few! No two days are the same and we expect people to be nimble & forward thinking, as any number of challenges can arise throughout the day.


The Role Objective

  • Effectively manage the buying and delivery of Direct Response TV airtime.
  • Help facilitate the implementation of GroupM’s DRTV Extend online video product.
  • Required to act as day-to-day DRTV planning/ buying specialist, liaising with Head of Trading for all MEC DRTV activity.
  • Ensure that client guarantees / PRFs / audits are met through outstanding buying performance, and ensure our service levels are of a high standard.
  • Accurately track cost and performance KPIs (CPV, CPQ etc.) delivery in order to deliver each client’s guarantees / PRFs alongside AD.
  • Analyse and implement Spot-lift data with an understanding of optimisations required to deliver against business KPIs.


The role is broken down into 4 key areas;

  • Client Management; Developing strong relationships with the client team and be the core AV contact for clients.
  • People Management; Ensure active participation in regular team status meetings, leading these on behalf of the AV team.
  • Internal Responsibilities; the process and trading of AV campaigns.
  • External Responsibilites; Develop strong relationships with relevant media owners (all media).

  • Basic understanding of Direct Response TV and marketplace.
  • Enthusiasm for relevant media news and developments.
  • Negotiation experience
  • Advanced skills in Powerpoint, Excel and Word.


  • Excellent written, oral presentation and analytics skills.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver clear and concise presentations both internally and to clients.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional organisational, analytical and numerical skills.

As mentioned above, enthusiasm, pro-activity and tenacity are key attributes that we look for. You don’t need to have a background in media but should have an interest in advertising, be great at building relationships and enjoy working well on quick turnarounds – things move very quickly and we need people who can adapt to this.
