We have developed an offering for our clients helping them to navigate the burgeoning scene of start-ups and accelerators that are fostering opportunities for corporations to advance their digital agenda.   Within this new team we have a vacancy for an Innovation Project Manager / Operations Manager.

 

You will support the leadership of this new core business offering in technology consultancy working with start-ups and accelerator programs to project manage the matching of briefs with solutions through to the delivery of successful pilot engagements. 

 

Primarily as an innovation project manager you will be accountable for the delivery of seamless pilots for our client.  Additionally you will act as the operations manager for the team. Linking both MediaCom global teams and their key local markets with the client’s business challenges at the heart of everything you do.   You will also be involved in project work to advance our offering in new directions as they become relevant to our client’s needs.

 

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the client’s pilot projects with start-ups and technology providers.  To ensure the effective operational delivery of Mediacom’s technology consultancy offering.   Project managers service the needs of the clients and support them as well as our start-up partners to ensure client objectives are understood, service levels remain high, and client expectations are met.

 

The role requires a track record of successful project management.  Broad understanding of technology trends and how they are shaping the future of communications. Basic understanding of marketing and technology principles, how marketing campaigns work cross market, plus an advanced analytic aptitude. It requires an ability to be highly motivated, numerate and articulate, both when speaking to clients, writing documents and analysing results.  It requires innovative thinking and proactivity to push the opportunities of the brief you’re given.  Thinking always about solutions and what’s possible to achieve successful outcomes.

About the team

 

This role sits within the client team but outside of the day to day delivery of media work interfacing with some key stakeholders in the wider Mediacom business:

  • The client team provide senior strategic communications planning advice to their clients
  • They coordinate the delivery and advancement of Client media and marketing needs cross markets, brands and agencies
  • The role will work closely with this team as a knowledge, contact and skills base for the client
  • Additionally, the role will work with the partnerships department to ensure start-ups are accurately vetted and selected as well as managed according to the business terms as agreed between Client and Mediacom.

 

 

The Role: 

 

We are looking for a Ops/Project Manager to support the running on Pilots between Clients and Start-up organisations. The project manager will be vital to the success of the development, launch and deployment of the pilot and will be involved with the operational management of the team and wider stakeholders both within MediaCom and client. You will be the conduit between different departments, stakeholders, and business owners providing important feedback and communication. The objective of the pilots is to bring fresh thinking and innovation to the client .  This requires attention to detail and the ability to cancel, revert, revise, and renew pilots based on their performance.  An optimal outcome being the scaling of a pilot due to meeting success criteria across brands and across markets. 

 

You will be expected to hand hold stakeholders and partners through detailed plans of action and timeline management of the pilot phases.  You will be comfortable that there is risk involved in the delivery of the pilots and be confident to point out issues and changes needed to remedy and realign for a successful outcome.  

 

While MediaCom is relaxed, friendly, and great fun, you are expected to always present a mature attitude and be flexible, reliable, hard-working and have excellent oral and written language skills. You need to be diplomatic and manage various stakeholders and know when to communicate changes to the team. You must have outstanding organisational skills, be able to multi-task and be able to work on your own initiative. Ideally you have some marketing experience but this is not essential.

 

Main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Reviewing briefs and helping in the matching process of briefs to pilot partners
  • Manage the programme of projects across the initiative within the project management tool (Wrike preferred)
  • Ensuring that communications are ongoing across all pilot projects and utilised to maintain an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets and costs effectively in respect of the planning process.
  • Creation of project plans for the running of a pilot
  • Running frequent status calls with global and local parties, and ensuring follow ups to ensure actions are taken
  • Managing reporting documents such as project timelines and project scopes
  • Supporting team members with project based work such as proof reading, development of presentations or documents and attending workshops and calls
  • Managing user help requests from the project stakeholders – monitoring and answering questions daily and developing and updating the FAQs on site
  • Fielding new requests for deployment of new pilots
  • Act as a champion for the program supporting both upwardly and downwardly the performance of the overall team as a key team player
