The Role
 
The Investment Manager works with the Associate Investment Director in leading a team of specialists that through intimate knowledge of market dynamics in terms of commercials and people, create immediate to long term investment strategies and tactics that provide GroupM’s customers market leading, highest value solutions and innovations to drive their expected outcomes. The investment performances are then reported back to customers in terms of consumer delivery, holistically and by channel, and most importantly how they drove customer outcomes to constantly refine and optimize future customer investment decisions.
The Investment Manager is directly accountable for a specific set of customers’ investment requirements from implementational planning through execution and invoice billing and ensuring vendor payment. They are also responsible for the development and accountability of their direct reports.
Responsibilities
People

Work with the Associate Investment Director to lead and inspire a team of individuals to learn and develop buying, trading and most importantly investment skills across all media channels. Manage individual team member’s development and wellbeing in the workplace through inspirational and consistent personal management skills.

Prioritise work flow and deliverables – internal and external.

Upwardly manage internal stakeholders through relevant, transparent, consistent, accurate, insightful and meaningful and information flow.

Help execute a working mandate that increases and encourages co-operation and an atmosphere of a working and learning partnership with the other specialist units.

Develop and promote investment techniques and benefits to other media professionals within the organization.
Ensure the Investment Director has been well briefed in current operational status for their participation and contribution to groupm trading exco.

Help to ensure that all investment team members operate to groupm’s compliance mandates.

Customer

Maintain strong and effective relationships with customers and be accountable directly and in person when required by the customer lead and / or the Associate Investment Director.
Be prepared to present to those customers when required at any stage on the investment process from implementational planning to execution and outcomes in a simple, insightful, easy to understand format.

Deliver all agreed customer performances, and if applicable, audit targets.
Ensure there is a collaborative working and mutually respectful working relationship with .
all customer stakeholders including their auditor, where applicable.
Media vendors

Create sustainable, mutually respectful relationships based on integrity with all media vendors appropriate to the team’s customers.

Ensure that all relevant media vendors are included in the briefing process in a timely manner and provided with all the information to create the best value response for the team’s customers.

Have a clear understanding of each media vendors commercial agenda and market performance from the short to the longer term.

Product

With the Associate Investment Director’s leadership and support, help develop the investment capability to a market leading level as viewed by the team’s customers and vendors.

Create an environment where the team understand the market dynamics from the immediate to the longer term across all channels.

Ongoing supervision of implementation of the team’s customer investment and individual performances.
Participate in the development and reporting of internal media benchmarking.
Participate in communicating internal and external marketplace intelligence where applicable.
Work with the Investment Director to identify and develop tools and systems that improve product quality, ease of trade and operational efficiency.
Commercial
Deliver to all investment KPI’s set by the team’s customers.
Take personal responsibility for day to day quality and volume delivery across all media channels. 
Ensure all invoice queries are resolved within 5 days.
Be responsible for ensuring the team’s contracted media agreements are upheld by all parties.
Knowledge/Skills 
  • 4+ years in media implementation; specifically, negotiation and buying based roles and be able to demonstrate performance in each craft
  • Highly numerate and organised
  • Strong communication (written and verbal)
  • Must be literate in Microsoft Office and industry standard tools
