Overview of job:
GroupM is the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a commercial director to join us. In this role, you will manage company’s commercial and financial needs, handle stakeholder relations, and improve operational excellence. You'll build robust financial processes, oversee client contracting and negotiations, and ensure company’s sustainable growth. Your responsibilities also include financial budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with contracts and guidelines. You will work closely with GroupM financial team and business team leaders to oversee the business health of company.

In this role, your goals will be:
  • Commercial influence of client team/finance
  • New business pitch assistance
  • Agency and client profitability
  • Monitoring contract compliance
  • Tracking Agency P&L delivery
In three months:
  • Be conversant with GroupM Divisions and Agencies
  • Support budgeting and costing exercise in partnership with business key stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day commercial and operation activities of company.
  • Good understanding of all necessary control, compliances and company operation and processes.
  • Achieved clear understanding on Process Excellence program expectations and local exercise approach and timelines.
In six months:
  • Lead the quarterly forecasting processes, costing, resources planning and monthly KPIs tracking.
  • Partner with business key stakeholders for all Commercial, Operation and Cost Recharge Computation Model
  • Work closely with respective stakeholders on all identified process improvement projects
In 12 months:
  • Responsible for Company Annual Budget/Quarterly/Monthly Forecast, Cost Recharge Model by Channel/Service Pillar.
  • Joined ownership with business key stakeholders on overall Budgeting, Costing, Resources Planning and Operational performance.
  • Supported the ongoing Process Excellence program activities, including onboarding new entities, new processes, new team members.
Responsibilities of the role:
  • Conduct periodic client profitability reviews and deploy resource allocation accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain client contract compliance.
  • Manage contract renewals and new pitches.
  • Update and improve client audits - media and financial audits.
  • Develop caveats/monitoring for media buying terms and conditions.
  • Manage budgeting and net working capital (NWC) management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.

What you will need:
  • Graduate Caliber with 10+ years of experience with strong commercial, costing and operations background.
  • Proactive, self-starter with strong commercial and operation acumen.
  • Articulate, with excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence senior management both internal and external.
  • Leadership qualities – ability to lead and deliver results in a highly motivated, demanding environment.
  • Client service skills, with the ability to build relationships.
  • Sharp, action orientated and able to put across concepts convincingly.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability in interpreting performance trends and taking proactive action.
  • Experience of working in successful fast paced business is preferable.
