The Role

We are looking for an IT Automation & Deployment Manager to help us transform the way we provision software and tools into our environment. This person will be responsible for managing three teams - Windows Automation, O/S Build and Application Deployment (currently 12 people) - and will drive efficiency and process improvements across these areas. This is a new role in the organisation with a lot of scope to shape and influence the direction and remit of the teams. 

The IT Automation & Deployment Manger's responsibilities will include:

  • Managing technical projects for firm-wide delivery (e.g. software lifecycle and machine consistency)
  • Establishing and implementing baselines across hardware and software, thereby reducing configuration drift and operational overhead
  • Overseeing the patching and software rollout processes (1000s of machines on a regular basis)
  • Detecting areas of opportunity for automation and process re-engineering
  • Supporting in-house and third party monitoring tools
  • Setting SLAs/KPIs and managing the teams to achieve these
  • Identifying new technologies to improve the way we work
The Individual

The right person for the role will have the following:
  • Experience in scripting (e.g. Powershell or other relevant scripting language)
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying and executing automation (e.g. software rollout processes, machine builds etc.)
  • Ability to critically analyse where processes are suboptimal and developing and implementing solutions
  • Windows Troubleshooting experience
  • Technical project management skills
  • Team lead/management experience
Compensation
