Our software and services are used around the globe and around the clock.

The Team
This is a rare opportunity for a motivated, meticulous, and technically-minded student to join the Information Security team of a financial research institution. The role involves working with sophisticated information security tools, and ensuring that policies and procedures are observed to maintain and improve the security posture of the company.

The Role
Placement students will join our Security Implementation Group team providing operational security management and support for the company. Here you will work alongside our teams responsible for all areas of information security, using and supporting state-of-the art security solutions and technology.

The students will start as Information Security Administrators, responding to and following up on security alerts, ensuring that the security parts of our processes are correctly carried out, and troubleshooting user issues related to security. The Information Security Administrator will also provide assistance to the rest of the team and will be intimately involved in providing support for all aspects of the company's Security systems. Later in the year there will be opportunities to gain experience in one or more of the specialist security teams, including Identity and Access Management, Security Engineering, Incident Management and Security Architecture.

This is very much a hands-on technical role, and provides an excellent learning experience for placement students wanting to launch their career into the field of Information Security within finance. The Security Administrator will work closely alongside senior team members who will be able to help with advice and troubleshooting. Due to the investment the company makes in IT and Security systems, there will be plenty of opportunities to develop knowledge of cutting-edge technologies within the security arena. This role will suit someone who has a real interest in information security and IT infrastructure in general, and a demonstrable aptitude for applying theoretical computing concepts and their skills to solve real problems.

Introduction and Training
Your first two weeks will consist of comprehensive in-house training. It is essential that you become accustomed to our user environment and IT infrastructure in order to progress and feel confident working within the team. This period consists of hands-on training, learning our day-to-day systems as well as attending theoretical seminars in relation to how our systems work and who is responsible for each aspect.

Following the successful completion of this you will be integrated into the Information Security team working alongside a mentor and members of the senior team who will provide support. Progress reviews and updates will be undertaken regularly.

The Individual
This opportunity will suit candidates who have a passion for technology and information security, coupled with an aptitude for applying computing concepts to real world problems. Applicants will have strong grades at A Level or BTEC (UCAS points 300 and above), be currently studying for a security related technology degree and on track for a 1st or 2:1.

This role offers the perfect opportunity to put theory into practice. Previous successful placement students are now working with us having returned from their final year at university as graduates.
