The company is seeking an experienced Windows Operations Analyst to join the IT Systems group. From day one the successful candidate will be dealing with a large range of technologies and taking responsibility for working on projects. The role will involve installing new applications from scratch, upgrading existing systems, and supporting/maintaining them. This will include:


  • Software rollouts to 1000’s of Windows machines
  • Keeping a consistent baseline of software rolled out to all machines
  • Automated software packaging and deployment
  • Supporting in-house and 3rd party monitoring and alerting tools for the Operations Team
  • Co-coordinating large software upgrades across the company
  • Benchmarking performance and tuning applications/hardware
  • Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange management
  • Scripting to automate problems and daily tasks
  • Coordinating consultants/support engineers for 3rd party support where required


The Individual

The role requires a skilled engineer with a strong track record of successfully delivering and supporting projects and systems within a Microsoft Windows environment. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines from a top university is required. The company has high academic hiring standards and requires candidates with a 2:1 degree or better and 3 B’s or equivalent at A-Level.

It is expected that the successful applicant will have at least 2 years’ experience of working in an application support role. Experience of providing automated solutions using Microsoft technologies is important, as is exposure to Windows 2012. The following experience would be beneficial:

  • Splunk
  • Visual Studio and other Microsoft products
  • Powershell and/or other scripting languages
  • Microsoft SQL to perform data manipulation tasks
