Position at Gogo Commercial Aviation

This position will lead a team of procurement professionals and contracts managers in servicing the various verticals at Gogo. The dynamic leader will develop and manage global procurement strategy in the LRU/OEM space for Gogo by collaborating with internal and external customers. This manager will work closely with the Product and Development Engineering teams, the New Product Introduction teams and Supplier Management teams to provide leadership in developing supplier strategies. This would include leading a team to manage the process of vendor selection, contract negotiations, relationship management, escalations, feedback/KPI management and contract compliance. This leader is also responsible for the development and management of the overall contract compliance process ensuring flow down of customer contract requirements. He/she will participate in key, high level strategy discussions with the ability to influence decisions that significantly impact the organization and will provide counsel and assistance on contractual matters throughout the Corporation. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. This leadership position is instrumental in Gogo’s overall strategy to provide operational excellence and quality products and services to all of its customers.

  • Manage and drive the supplier sourcing for new product introductions including the scope development, the RFP process and supplier selection evaluations.
  • Assess supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfillment ensuring suppliers are able to meet requirements for performance, quality, cost and delivery and other applicable customer and internal system and reputation requirements
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery
  • Develop appropriate ROI business cases and risk analysis and present to senior leadership for decision making.
  • Spearhead and lead commercial negotiations with aviation vendors with cross-functional team support.
  • Assist with new product launch by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved
  • Drive product improvements from engineering & quality through suppliers and managing the product continuous improvement cycle.
  • Interface with internal teams to prioritize supplier development needs by technology to improve cost competitiveness or supply constraints
  • Research external market information and companies to identify potential sources and suppliers
  • Work with engineering and suppliers to develop cost models.
  • Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain with regard to product development and procurement of parts
  • Develop and execute a supplier contract compliance strategy for the operations within Gogo.
  • Oversees the preparation of proposals and negotiation and administration of contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Leads staff and provides guidance on complex contracts.
  • Lead the contract management team to coordinate and support Procurement Managers, legal and vendors to review, complete, audit and prepare contract documents for execution
  • Provide leadership to develop and execute on SLA’s related to contract management and SOW development.
  • Develop and implement programs, policies and practices to ensure the Contracts and Procurement function complies with procurement policies.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics to assess effectiveness of the contracts and procurement teams 
Provide counsel to contract professionals in the areas of: development of contractual terms and conditions that are aligned with the proposed statements of work and customer requirements, negotiations, and risk identification and management
