Position at Gogo Commercial Aviation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coverage and capacity statistical analysis of Gogo satellite networks. 
  • Technical and statistical analysis for various scenarios involving satellite communication links
  • Evaluate actual usage along with forecasted usage based on expected growth and feature support.
  • Review weekly satellite RF link performance and provide reports on action areas.
  • Support capacity requirement development for satellite networks by evaluating actual usage along with forecasted usage based on expected growth and feature support.
  • Support development of budget for regional capital requirements and corresponding data costs
  • Responsible for improvement of key performance parameters for networks to ensure minimal negative customer/operations and impact
  • Interface with the internal work groups and personnel to fully evaluate performance and to support the resolution of problems.
  • Plays a key role in the collection, analysis and dissemination of performance metrics. Communicate metrics and holds regular performance meetings that provide meaningful and useful information for internal customers.
  • Assisting in developing and operating a common set of process and procedures that allow us to meet contractual SLAs and maintain industry related compliance.
  • Provides input to the rapid restoration of high severity tickets using a process that applies appropriate urgency and expertise to the performance restoration efforts.
  • Processes lower priority tickets for timely and accurate performance resolutions minimizing the impact to the business and adhering to contractual SLAs.




  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the satellite and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Technical competency in the following areas:

o    Map generation via Google Earth

o    Statistics

o    Satellite systems 

o    Communication system  performance analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to create scripting and filtering programs using languages like Python for quick data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills including technical documentation, written reports and proposals, development and delivery of presentations
  • Ability to listen to and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
  • Demonstrated professional and people skills with the ability to be a productive independent contributor and team member.
  • Thorough knowledge of network performance monitoring best practices.
  • Technical background with systems and network administration knowledge.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in support of company SLAs and/or customer needs.
  • Ability to work across multiple functional units and technology platforms.
Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities
