As a Senior Program Manager at Gogo Business Aviation you will manage all aspects of a project through the project lifecycle including project plans, project budgets, resources and delivery of outcomes. You will Implement project management best practices to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and meet the overall project objectives.

How will you make a difference?

  • Manage all aspects of a project through the project life cycle including project plans, project budgets, resource plans and delivery of outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and coordination with members of all functional organizations to coordinate companywide resources and ensure that the scope of all projects support strategic business objectives.
  • Facilitate the planning, including project structure and staffing, estimating, resource allocation and assignment, detailed scheduling, critical path analysis and coordination for a project throughout the lifecycle.
  • Provide timely reports to upper management to ensure an understanding of status and project performance. Prepare interim and completion project reports.
  • Hold focus group meetings as needed to facilitate inter-departmental communication and coordination to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure all project plans are up to date with respect to planning, scope, scheduling, cost estimations and status.
  • Facilitate negotiations with project participants and stakeholders on significant project issues and risks.
  • Analyze factors leading to project success and failure and make recommendations for future improvements or changes. Researches lessons learned, best practices, risk assessments and trends, earned value and analysis as a foundation for baseline plans.
  • Take a proactive stance by developing contingency plans in potential risk areas and identifying contingency plan deployment criteria to resolve potential problems. 
  • Ensure adherence to AS9100.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of engineering project management
  • Experience with software is a must

Required Experience, Skills and Talents

  • Practical knowledge of project management theory, concepts and principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and Project Server
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills, critical thinker with excellent judgment and initiative
  • Strong technical writing skills, analysis assessment, attention to details and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Superior communication skills with all levels of employees, both internal and external customers, including presentations, negotiations and written reports

Preferred Experience, Skills and Talents

  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification strongly preferred or equivalent PM experience
  • Experience in the wireless communications, data communications and/or aviation industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Agile Development methodology highly desired
