The Certification Engineer will lead the process to obtain and retain FAA certification for Gogo products in all targeted aircraft types. The Engineer will: develop and execute certification plans to support modification projects; develop and maintain the MDL for STC projects, manage project certification compliance; and participate in preliminary design review, PDR, and Critical Design Review, CDR meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute certification plans to support modification projects
- Develop and maintain the MDL for STC projects
- Manage project certification compliance
- Participate in preliminary design review, PDR, and Critical Design Review, CDR meetings
-  Responsible for deliverables such as: Certification Plans, Compliance Checklist and Summary, Compliance Report, Weight Change Report, Airworthiness Limitations, MDL/Alteration Specification, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Conformity Plan, RFCs, TIA, Issue Papers, EWIS Evaluation and Compliance report, Overall Project Management
- Coordinate all certification activities with FAA.
- Obtain FAA approval as required and confer and/or correspond with FAA to keep company management aware of status of projects for approval with FAA.
- Alert appropriate personnel to changes affecting the Company by reviewing the Federal Register and monitoring regulatory change proposals, to assure the Company meets all regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance to the development teams as it relates to regulatory and industry standards.
- Serve as custodian of all FAA files and regulations.

Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or related technical field.
- 7+ years experience with FAA regulations, procedures and the STC process.
- Advanced knowledge in all federal avionics regulations including FAA, EASA. 
- FAA Designated Engineering Representative a plus.
- Excellent communication skills including technical report writing, development and delivery presentations to all levels of management, and the ability to effectively listen and communicate with customers, vendors, and members of federal regulation agencies. 
- Prior experience working in the aerospace industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and give presentations. Must be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and with external clients.
- Ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams. 
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. 
- Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other project and engineering related software programs.
