Purchasing and Supply Chain Transformation Manager: This position will be responsible for leading a team of buyers to execute on supplier purchase strategies, as well as partnering with the Supply Chain leadership team to drive the Inbound Supply Chain transformation agenda. This leader will work closely with the Procurement and Supply Chain Operations team to manage supplier quality, deliveries and to ensure purchases are executed to deliver Gogo’s customer commitments.



Key responsibilities:
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
  • Adhere to Purchasing Policies to ensure all items are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints
  • Manage the Purchasing data set-up for new suppliers and vendors
  • Assist Procurement with managing vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors
  • Manage the creation, updating, and closure of Purchase Orders in the systems
  • Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with Purchase Orders
  • Oversee supplier compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations
  • Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns
  • Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases
  • Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements
  • Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
  • Review purchase orders for proper authorization and compliance with organizational policy and procedures
  • Develop and manage purchasing budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor and reduce purchase variances to meet profit objectives
  • Produce regular reports on purchase commitments, costs and delivery performance
  • Oversee the operations and daily activities of the purchasing department
  • Performance manage, develop and motivate purchasing staff
  • Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing organizational needs and market conditions
  • Works closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrived, and that they are properly received into the system
  • Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
  • Develop positive relationships and work closely with Engineering & Quality organizations to manage, implement and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies and New Product Introductions, and transfers
  • Work directly with the VP, Supply Chain to drive the Inbound Supply Chain Transformation agenda. This workscope includes focused workstreams on Purchase Order Maintenance, supporting MRP run frequency, implementation of a rich suite of meaningful Supply Chain metrics, implementation of detailed production and supply activity forecasts, and supporting the Supplier Management team’s efforts to continuously monitor production capacity.

Qualifications 

  • 5-10+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing or procurement 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, materials management, operations management, engineering or related field. MBA preferred, although not required. 
  • Strong leadership and problem solving skills with track record to meet deliverables and project deadlines.
  • Persuasive and excellent communicator (oral and written) with suppliers and company top management.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinker. Ability to turn raw data into actionable insights and direction.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong negotiations and influential skills.
  • Numerically astute with strong problem-solving skills and expertise to develop and execute objectives for self and others and the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals
  • Competency in Microsoft Office with high ability in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing and program management
  • Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualification
  • Knowledge of quality and business systems
  • Commercial and financial acumen
  • Report and Procedure writing with excellent presentation skills
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
  • Working experience of vendor management software

Travel:

  • willingness to travel up to but not limited to 15-25%
