Position at Gogo Commercial Aviation

Under the direction of and reporting to the ATO Development and Training Manager, the Learning Management System Administrator will perform a variety of activities in support of learning management for key technical functional areas such as project and technical operations business units. The LMS Administrator maintains, processes, reviews, compiles, and analyzes a variety of training related electronic and hard copy reports, records, statistics, timelines, tables, correspondence, and presentations, which may be sensitive and confidential in nature and which requires considerable use of tact and discretion in handling. The LMS administrator will also enable, monitor and manage the software deployment tool to deliver designed training content to internal Gogo employees and external contract labor. May provide direction to less experienced staff. Assignments are of moderate scope and importance where judgment is required in analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations in resolving non-routine issues.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Gathers, collects, records, tracks, verifies data and information from multiple sources for inclusion into the Learning Management System (LMS).

Troubleshoots LMS User issues.

Assign, maintain, and report on training requirements per established processes.

Maintains, develops, and updates a variety of electronic and/or hard copy reports and records which may be confidential and sensitive in nature for a variety of parties, which may require independent interaction with management, customers, vendors or agencies.

Assists in development, loading, and testing of training materials.

Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources and may respond to verbal and written requests for information from authorized external parties and/or agencies.

Interacts with management and representatives of outside organizations.

Administers all learner records, creates and deactivates employee records in a timely basis following FAA 145 Repair Station requirements.

Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

 

Other Functions:

0% - 10% travel time may be required (both domestically and internationally) to ensure the effectivity of the training.

Ensure the security of all company proprietary information.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Data entry experience desired.

Proficient at Moodle.

Familiar and experienced with HTML and CSS.

Familiar in the use of Articulate Storyline or similar SCORM compliant software.

Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat Pro, TechSmith -Camtasia and SnagIT.

Ability to utilize media equipment and content.

Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Outlook.

Must be capable of holding a valid US Passport.

Must be capable of developing and presenting presentations.

Must enjoy the challenges that come with creating change in an organization.

Must be physically able to travel as needed.

Be able to comfortably work in a demanding work environment.

 

Education or Formal Training

 

Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT or a related field of study or relevant professional experience.

 

Two or more years experience in a field related to the specialized functional area or unit where assigned.

 

Experience

Experience with a Learning Management System required.

Experience developing web playable training in compliance with the EEOC Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is preferred.

 

Working Environment/ Physical Activities

Telephone, desktop and/or laptop computer, copy machine and fax.

Digital display unit and digital camera.

Participates in a regular 40-hour work schedule with overtime as required to meet business objectives. Work is generally performed in a normal work environment; however, the job may take the member into offsite locations where there is possible exposure to noise, chemical solutions, dust and temperatures above 80 degrees F. Some direct supervision will be required. Must be able to work at Chicago Headquarters.
