At our Crowdstar studio in Burlingame, we believe that there is huge opportunity in interactive entertainment products for women, and CrowdStar’s goal is to build products which engage, enrich and empower them.  

With our two top grossing titles, Covet Fashion and Design Home, CrowdStar has developed new ways for users (players) to enjoy fashion and interior design. Not only are we changing how women game, we’re also changing how they discover and shop for everything from clothing to shoes, or furniture to home decor. As a team we are passionate not only about creating fun and engaging games for women but enriching lives outside of the game.

Role Overview

Our CrowdStar Studio is looking for an experienced Data Product Manager to help drive the next generation of mobile experiences for female players. This future team member will help gather and analyze metrics about the game, create and answer hypothesis through analysis, testing and in-game validation. They will be responsible for questioning everything about the game to help us as a team drive revenue, engagement, and other KPIs. They will surface opportunities for improvement and call out red flags. They will be critical in providing every team working on the game with the knowledge and data they need to succeed such as revenue forecasting, engagement drop offs, economy analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish hypothesis, test and validate through live ops
  • Perform in-depth analysis of in-game/platform economies and use quantitative insight to drive improvements in both user engagement and design
  • Leverage Data Analytics, A/B testing, Push Notifications and other partner tools to drive KPIs
  • Track performance on a daily basis, communicate daily KPIs and investigate unforeseen changes to KPIs
  • Optimize the player experience to drive both engagement and monetization
  • Revenue Forecasting
  • Research competitive products, complete teardowns and make recommendations
  • Support the content team on balancing the in-game economy through optimizing events and restrictions finding the balance between engagement, revenue, and user acquisition

Required Skills/Personal Requirements:

  • Experience in product management and analytics functions for mobile consumer facing products in the past.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data driven product design and decision making.
  • Past experience with structured, hypothesis driven product improvements, rigorous metrics analysis, consumer insights and design experimentation to align product features with player motivations.
  • Experience with multivariate testing in web or mobile products.
  • Extremely strong SQL skills (Experience with Tableau, R, Python, PHP preferred)
  • Strong in Excel, ability to create models and simulators for free-to-play economies.
  • Strong knowledge of social networks and user engagement patterns.
  • Passion for games and strong player empathy. Ability to critically evaluate design, art and economy that influence player behavior.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with experience preparing and presenting decks to various stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate both creative and technical feedback to a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and projects.
  • Self-motivated team player that brings excitement and enthusiasm to work each day.
  • Open to feedback and thinks outside of the box.
  • Loves games. Avid social / casual gamer.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in quantitative fields is required (CS, EE, Econ, Finance); MS/MBA is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in data product management/analytics
