Role Overview:

You’re a self-motivated experienced professional with a passion for making games and shipped Android games or apps in your portfolio. You're ready to collaborate with a team of highly dedicated and talented artists, designers and developers to create best in class social/mobile games. You love the idea of spearheading Android development within the studio and spreading Android best practices across the studio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership on the Android platform and raise the level of Android expertise across the studio
  • Ensure the best possible experience on the Android platform for our cross-platform titles
  • Develop the Android implementation of cross platform layers and systems
  • Work with a team to ensure Android specific capabilities and concerns are addressed from design, development to testing
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, developers, producers and QA to design, estimate, implement, test and fix bugs in features
  • Identify and drive improvements in the technology base and development processes
  • Complete tasks under tight deadlines, adapt to changes and prioritize competing priorities

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of professional experience with the Android SDK, NDK, Java and C++
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience with shipped apps or titles
  • Experience mentoring junior talent and teaching new skills to others
  • Experience profiling and optimizing for frame rate, memory usage, load-times and app size on Android
  • Strong knowledge of Google Play store guidelines and requirements
  • Strong communication skills, especially when working with coworkers in other departments
  • You take pride in your work and have tremendous attention to detail
  • Have professionally shipped at least two Android apps or games working as part of a team

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Unity and writing Android plugins
  • Experience with a C++ based game engine and OpenGLES
  • Experience having written cross platform (iOS/Android) libraries
  • Familiarity with other channels and platforms such Amazon Appstore and Facebook.
