Description

Glu Mobile (NASDAQ:GLUU), the leader in development of high-fidelity free-to-play mobile games, is seeking a Junior or Associate User Researcher to work out of our Hyderabad office.

Role Overview:

As the Junior or Associate User Researcher you will work directly with Glu’s User Experience Research (UxR) team on projects that directly impact design and strategy of the many products in Glu’s mobile portfolio. A Central Service, UxR at Glu touches all products across all genres, labels orgs and studios. You will be able to collaborate on major research projects with a world class UxR team as well as execute projects end to end individually.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment duties include the following tasks:

  • Posting recruitment ads on student portals and Craigslist
  • Screening interested participants for upcoming studies
  • Designing screener questionnaires
  • Managing communication with remote user research participants
  • Scheduling participants for upcoming studies
  • Assisting in management of online research participant panel
  • Learning and documenting any integration of new tools that are used for the purpose of project or panel management
Research
  • Research duties include the following tasks:
  • Data Cleaning
  • Investigating and reporting on new methods
  • Observing remote studies and taking notes and/or annotating video data
  • Conducting heuristic evaluations of games in development
  • Formatting study report templates
  • Designing and proposing studies
Analysis duties include analyzing and creating reports on both quantitative and qualitative data collected

Qualifications:
  • One year experience as a user experience research or UX generalist (Fresh grads with UX related projects or coursework also encouraged to apply)
  • Background or interest in user research
  • Past projects that demonstrate knowledge of 2-3 user experience research methodologies
  • Interest in games and mobile entertainment - you play games regularly
  • Strong desire to advocate for great user and player experiences
  • Bachelors Degree in HCI, Psychology, Information Sciences, Media Arts and Sciences, Cognitive Science, Sociology or related subject area
Bonus Points For:
  • Masters Degree in HCI, Psychology, Information Sciences, Media Arts and Sciences, Cognitive Science, Sociology or related subject area
  • Statistical Analysis background (R, SPSS)
  • Data Visualization and/or Infographic expertise
  • Marketing background
  • Knowledge of international gamer audiences and trends (e.g. APAC)
