At our Crowdstar studio, we believe that there is a huge opportunity in interactive entertainment products for women. With our successful mobile game titles, Covet Fashion and Design Home, CrowdStar has developed new ways for users (players) to enjoy fashion and interior design. As a team, we are passionate not only about creating fun and engaging games for women but enriching lives outside of the game.

The Role:

As a Sr Software Engineer, you will be part of the Design Home server-side development team. Design Home is a mobile gaming app that brings home decor and interior design directly to the fingertips of one million women each day. Released in November 2016, it has over 900K DAUs, and is the Glu’s most popular game title.

In this position, you will be exposed to using PHP at scale and to building distributed systems at a very fast-paced environment.

You’ll most often:

  • Design, develop and implement new features and functionality.
  • Build Drupal solutions, including CMS features and content APIs
  • Work collaboratively with other developers, content managers, testers and other team members to ensure high quality delivery and effective and functional implementation.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have a passion for:

And your skills and experience include:

  • Web application development using PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • Drupal theming and module building (must have).
  • Building LAMP based server-side REST/SOAP APIs.
  • SQL and relational databases for example MySQL.
  • PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, Zend Framework, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering, and/or 3+ years experience.

It would be a great plus if you have an experience with:

  • 3+ years of Software development experience.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like Mongo DB or Couchbse.
  • Experience with caching technologies like Memcache or Redis.
  • Experience with PHP debugging and testing.
  • Experience with Git, SVN and/or some other version control systems.
  • Experience with Linux shell scripting.
