Global Indemnity is seeking a detailed oriented Financial Analyst to join the Bala Cynwyd office. This role will perform financial analysis and accounting. This person will work on many detail-oriented activities such as competitor analysis, analyzing investments and potential investment opportunities, forecasting and analysis, Board of Director presentations and providing accounting support. Accounting support includes recording journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly closing procedures, financial statement reporting, expense planning, and equity compensation plan maintenance.

Position & Responsibilities:

  • Competitor analysis including market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps
  • Staying abreast of industry conditions and competitor activities
  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
  • Preparing analyses requested by the Board of Directors
  • Analyze potential investment opportunities
  • Work closely within Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain detailed accounting and prepare all disclosures related to director, officer and employees compensation programs
  • Analyze actual expenses vs. plan quarterly; prepare quarterly expense analysis exhibits
  • Analyze actual staffing vs. staffing plan quarterly
  • Prepare quarterly and annual equity roll forward
  • Calculate weighted average shares quarterly and prepare related executive summary
  • Prepare select quarterly Board of Directors’ presentations
  • Ensure SOX compliance in the areas of compensation, expenses and equity
  • Conduct special requests / projects as they arise

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills; ability to accomplish results with minimal oversight
  • Detail-oriented, commitment to quality and hard work
  • Strong computer skills - specifically Excel, Power BI, Bloomberg
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments a must
  • Experience with short and long term financial planning using internal and external financial data and conditions desired
  • Strong background in general ledger accounting and reconciliations and/or financial reporting required
  • Experience/ability to research and collect data to evaluate investment opportunities will be needed
  • 5+ years in an accounting, financial analysis, auditing, or related role
  • Bachelors’ degree in related field, or equivalent experience, Masters Business Administration (MBA)
  • CPA or progress towards, a plus.
  • The ability to download the company’s VPN software onto a personal computer to allow for remote work as needed.
