Dental Assistant (Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm)
Description
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients for oral examinations.
- Sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets-up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures.
- Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays.
- Anticipates dentist’s needs in order to ensure streamline treatment procedures.
- Records medical and dental history and vital signs of patients.
- Ensures review and completion of accurate and current documentation of medical history, medical alerts, and signed consent forms.
- Documents and charts all dental procedures performed during each patient visit according to Company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Provides patients with postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
- Provides dental education and information to ensure patient awareness of dental health and continuing treatment.
- Ensures operatory is appropriately equipped and stocked with inventory and re-orders materials when necessary.
- Adheres to State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws for infection control, safety standards in operatory, and wearing personal protective barriers.
- Recognizes signs of a dental emergency and ensures proper and timely response and notification to patient, operatory staff, and emergency medical personnel when necessary.
- Coordinates all in-house cases; schedules appointments and reserves operatory time.
- Conducts preliminary screening appointments and recruits ideal candidates for Research & Development (R&D) and marketing projects.
- Ensures development and implementation of operatory goals are developed in collaboration with R&D studies and Marketing campaigns.
- Ensures overall presentation and delivery of operatory procedures are of highest quality for marketing projects.
- Submits requests for approvals to Human Resources for all patients.
- Coordinates videotaping and photography with marketing department per management direction.
- Assists with marketing projects such as courses, marketing videos, and brochures.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of chairside dental experience.
Special Requirements/Certification:
- Current Registered Dental Assistant License in California.
- X-Ray License preferred.
Pay Range: $20.00-$30.00.hr
