Senior Database Administrator

Engineering Mill Valley, California

Description

Our mission at Glassdoor is to help people everywhere find jobs and companies they love. We are disrupting the recruiting industry by changing the way people search for jobs and how companies pick top talent.

As a Senior Database Administrator, you’ll play a key role in developing our technology base and helping the company move forward to a more current modern tech stack. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of database administration for our production and development database servers that support 55+ million unique users a month and growing. We currently have multiple production OLTP database servers, a data warehouse and a half dozen staging and QA databases environments.

You will focus on creating, configuring and maintaining SQL Server and Postgres databases. In addition, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of our DR and HA strategies. You’ll also play an important part in setting the technology trends and standards we will be building upon in the future.

We look for self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment – which means wearing many hats, being able to change direction quickly, and showing an eagerness to learn new technologies as the needs arise.  In this role you work with a small, collaborative team of engineers and product managers – so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also a must. Most importantly – we’re looking for an individual who can prioritize, multi-task, and deliver high quality solutions.
