Glassdoor is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the successful candidate will support all aspects of the tax operations. Key responsibilities include direct and indirect tax compliance, assist with tax related close procedures, and interact with internal functions and outside consultants on a number of tax projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage indirect tax compliance obligations including sales and use, VAT, GST, property, city and business tax and other regulatory returns
  • Prepare the quarterly and year-end income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
  • Prepare tax footnote for audited financials in accordance with SEC requirements
  • Perform tax account reconciliations and account rollforwards for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
  • Respond to all tax audits and tax notices, including gathering information, and resolving requests
  • Ensuring all tax due dates are met (domestic and foreign) and are reflected on our Corporate compliance calendar
  • Understand our business activities and identify tax considerations and evaluate implications including changes in legislation, introduction of new products, international expansion, etc.
  • Liaise with outside tax consultants and internal departments (legal, HR, etc.) to assist with various domestic and foreign income tax filing obligations
  • Lead tax planning and research projects and document conclusions
  • Communicate impact of new tax policies and procedures to management
  • Serve as tax lead on process improvement initiatives to develop scalable operational tax compliance processes
  • Take on ad hoc projects as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of relevant tax experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, and Masters in Taxation a plus
  • Tax compliance experience in a public company required
  • Demonstrated ability in researching complex tax issues and documenting conclusions
  • Experience in a high growth, rapidly changing work environment required. Must be able to work with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; must be comfortable connecting with and communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly detail oriented with exceptionally strong judgment and unimpeachable integrity
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and involve others as required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, including pivot tables and vlookup formulas required, Powerpoint) and Google Docs
  • NetSuite experience preferred
