We are looking for an individual to lead our paid media efforts, customer acquisition, content acquisition and online brand campaigns. You’ll be expert at utilization of paid media at scale, bid management platforms, campaign tracking, campaign analytics & reporting systems.   A self-starter, you like to get your “hands dirty” by staying close to the media programs as you manage and continue to build a world-class team.   You will partner with other teams in marketing, product, business operations and oversee the development of the tech stack/infrastructure to support your media programs.  This is a Director/Sr. Director level position (based on experience level) reporting to the company Chief Marketing Officer.

As the business owner for paid media, user acquisition and content acquisition, you’ll be responsible for developing the overall paid media strategy, including LP testing, creative testing, ROAS modeling, and application of paid media in support of customer lifecycle efforts.  You’ll have a keenly analytical mind and the intellectual curiosity to identify new opportunities to test and grow our paid media capabilities, channels and performance models across PC, tablets and mobile devices.  A good communicator, you will be able to present your work, new initiatives, business rationales, etc. to internal and external constituents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the business owner of all paid media programs including search, display, social, mobile, affiliates, and other networks.
  • Expert ownership of the platforms and partnerships necessary to deliver paid media at scale.
  • Develop and validate the business models used to support acquisition efforts, including the automation of key functions in bid management platforms.
  • Deliver at scale acquisition programs through key channels.
  • Work closely with Analytics/Biz Ops teams to ensure agreement on KPI’s metrics and approach to media allocation, spend and results management.
  • Proactively work with key stakeholders (product managers, marketplace team and marketers) to help them identify opportunities to improve conversion of key funnels.
  • Analyze areas with improvement opportunities and make recommendations to stakeholders as changes to test to drive funnel improvements.
  • Create dashboards and automated reports for marketing teams and other teams, as needed. Provide analysis as part of reporting cadence and develop recommendations based on findings.
  • Buy media directly across all platforms as needed, stay close to media buying activities as team grows in the future.
  • Budget forecasting and ownership for acquisition activities, including monthly reconciliation, estimate updating and vendor invoice approval/processing.

Key Qualifications and Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree and 7+ years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on SEM, social and affiliate/partners.  Deep, hands on expertise at delivering paid search programs at scale a plus.
  • Deep quant skills.  Ability to analyze & develop complex business/marketing models for acquisition programs at scale.  Ability to direct and guide team members to do the same and work with Analytics teams  to provide key analysis.
  • Ability to deliver innovative creative for performance-based media buys.
  • Must have advanced experience with Google Analytics, Tableau and Excel, SQL a plus
  • Extensive experience with bid management platforms, DSP’s, DMP’s, etc., including alterations to product to adapt to business requirements.  Experience with custom bid management platforms and their development a major plus.
  • Experience with results tracking platform development, implementation and automation with DMP/Campaign Management Platforms to deliver ROAS positive campaigns at scale.
  • Deep A/B & multivariate testing experience a must
  • Knowledge of website technology a plus (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
